Blimey, time for a 'Termination of Rivalry' II |

| When you look at how much we have spunked in transfers since 1983 it is amazing that BHA are just one league below us at present. |

Not really. They're in a league we haven't been in for over 3 decades, there's a huge gulf. 'The Lower Leagues' start at league one. Most teams in the Championship are dreaming of the Premiership and spunking a 'little' money in the hope of making much more. You're right though, it is odd to be so near to something so small-time ;) |

Zamora was at Bath City, Peter Ward came from Burton. |

Has any big money signing we've ever made really worked out? Nigel Martyn is one I suppose. |
|
|
| Adlerhorst |
Don't worry about it, at least you bought the player you were after. Charlton sent someone to go shopping in Burnley and they blew £2m on the wrong player (at least I can only think that is what they did).
I assume this is what happens when you employ a personal shopper. |

Looks like you've just got most of that back with Dean Hammond going to Colchester for 250k.
He must be mad, he'll be back in League One next year. |

| Hammond said recently that he'd love to lead us out at our first game at our new stadium. Footballers eh? |

Yes, but I am unimpressed, which is why I replied 'oooh'.
I am unimpressed with most modern stadiums.
Inside, they all look the same. Soulless, indentikit places.
Corporate hell holes. Sit down shut up.
St Mary's, The New Den, The Riverside, The Stadium of Light, Wigans horrible industrial estate prefab, The Rico, The Crisp Bowl, The Britannia, The Emirates. All look the same, all designed to keep fans behind the goal away from the pitch. ASDA. Tesco. Sainsburys. Sanitised. Twee. Nice. Lovely. Lego. Flatpacks. Dull.
Give me Selhurst, the Old Den, Fratton Park, Roker Park, The Dell, Highbury, The Victoria Ground, Filbert Street, The Goldstone Ground, Ayresome Park, Maine Road, etc etc etc any day of the week.

Point taken! But when you have sat in the elements;week in,week out and half a mile from the pitch; you find yourself dreaming of a nice seat, roof etc.
Give me the Goldstone over the Withdean anyday;but that has gone and personally i cannot wait for Falmer! |

I'm sure from your point of view that's right, but not having done the same, I really couldn't care less about a girder in the AW.

When you fork out £30 as an away fan , that girder can be a little annoying! |

That's Dean Cox, the one Charlton were after. |

A young snake is more dangerous, because it's more likely to strike without warning.
One of the most deadly creatures in the world is a tree-frog, it's venom will kill a human in around 7 seconds. It's brightly coloured, but very small.
Tell you what, Cox has way more talent than Savage did - and he was well over 6'3" tall.
Several opposing players have thought they'd easily knock him off the ball or just take it off him, then they get all pissed off when they get mugged a few times in front of everyone, by this tiny geezer who looks like his shorts are 2 sizes too big for him.
We also used to have this skinny lad play for us, who every opposing player thought would be simple to nick the ball off. He left top defenders lying in his wake wondering what just made fun of them.
Then he shot, he scored - it must've been Peter Ward. |
