He's gone - medical happening now.
Best player in our league, but he's been out injured for the last two months (and missed four months last season) and our 'team' performances have improved recently.
Hate to see him go, but little fish like us have to take the money and run when the opportunity arises. £4m isn't to be sniffed at, particularly since that nice Mr Dowie sold off a lot of the family silver. |
|

| My Charlton mate doesn't seem too bothered. Says you've been better without him in the team anyway? |
|
|
| Nofishtoday |
| I agree that he is a very good championship midfielder. He'll struggle in the prem though unless Keane suceeds in getting him to lose about 10 lbs.... |

You really ought to try to get to this one.

Almost identical to Walsall (before they build a second tier at the home end).
Easy to get to, park and get away from, but no character whatsoever. Just a new tick off the list of 92 really. |

How come Charlton always seem to get decent money for their players they sell off?
I guess we did OK with Hall, Boyce and Cort, but not in Charlton's league.
12 Mil for Parker - 8 Mil for AJ - I rest my case. |

It is a fee 'possibly rising to £4 million,' so it depends on add ons I suppose. I think you're better off with the money TBH, Reid is a great talent that won't ever be fufilled IMO.
Not sure at all about Halford. I didn't want him when we were linked, so I guess I should be glad he's go to you.
On good deals, the £16 mill for Bent is looking better and better for you! |

£3,250,000 plus £750,000 depending on on appearances and Sunderland staying in the Premiership.
£1m a year off the wages as well.
Out of interest, who do you think is the best player in this division? My vote would probably go for Gera now. |

I'd go for Jonathon Greening.
(we both go for WBA players)
I must admit. Reid has been very impressive every time I've seen him play for CAFC. |

Just under a week away until we all visit the Valley. I must admit Addickt despite what some of our fans say the game will be the biggest for me this season bar obviously and possible promotion clinching games of playoff games. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from that day in May where your fans were jsut a bit too happy to see us go down.

Were the trains not running or something YT as we never take anyone away and certainly never as much as Palace. |

Course you did, course you did, you keep telling yourself that sonny. Bit like your constant sell outs in the prem even though there were always numerous empty seats to be had.

Do you know I had no idea how many you took to any away game this season, including ours. Why on earth do you know how many we took?
Your support is shit though. I don't think we need any stats to tell us that! Ours is alright generally.

No, hence the word 'almost', before the numbers 1,300.
I know how many tickets were sold by Charlton, but unfortunately I wasn't standing there counting our 'walk up' numbers - or in the case of a few the 'stagger up' numbers :D.
None of us sang though, we just sat there with our thermos flasks and tartan blankets watching the game. At least 300 never made it to the ground due to the attraction of the massive vehicle scrap yard about 5 miles out of Scunthorpe which was a big pull for those with divided loyalties. |

You're obsessed Addicted.
Quite frankly I wouldn't have a clue how many fans Br*ghton took to their last away game, and they're our real rivals.
You are constantly measuring yourself up against us
A sociologist would probably say it's like some sort of inferiority complex or something. After years of being the poor relation, even having to share our ground, cap in hand, you now seem desperate to show us that you've emerged from our shadow.
Well bully for you, but I couldn't really give a shit. |

That kind of sums it up. I don't really pay attention to how many we take away, unless it's abnormally small or unusually large, and I've certainly never looked at a program to see how many Charlton (or even Millwall or Brighton) have taken to a corresponding fixture to see if we've taken more! It's just a bit weird? |

To be fair though, it is a point a lot of Palace fans make, so if Addicted has found a game where they took more away fans than us, it's only fair he points it out.
Mind you, it is only one game. |

Yes, this was discussed at length at the time. There were at least 1300 Palace at Scunthorpe. I was there. We sold 908 in advance but many more travelled on the day. Remember also that this was at Palace's nadir point of the season. |
