Not a bad attendance at the Withoutdean tonight.
Just another 18,105 needed to fill Falmer.

Second division, 1985:
Crystal Palace 0-5 Wimbledon
Att: 4005
No football on telly that day, tickets weren't £24.50, you were a division higher than we are now, and despite being a crap hole, Selhurst then was still better than Withdean is now.
So there we go - sh́te attendances do happen. I can live with it, and actually it's perfectly possible that our attendances will be 20% - 30% bigger than yours in 3 years time. |

From what I can remember, Ron Noades would have been quite happy that there were so few people there. I'm sure there were some fans 'having a go' near the Directors' seats. |

WRONG!
Palace did get gates of 4,000 back then, but not against The Wombles, who could muster up nearly 3,000 fans to travel through the dense marshland that is Mitcham Common and pitch up at Selhurst Park.
The gate was actually 8,005 and you should'nt laugh too hard, as Brighton only managed to draw 8,025 a couple of months later.
This obviously means that Wimbledon had at least 2,000 more fans than Brighton back then, as obviously more Palace fans would turn up for the Brighton match! :hi: |

Indeed, so why do you keep mentioning them?
I've been at Selhurst in crowds of 40,000 and 50,000 plus and in crowds of just over 4 thousand.
Makes no odds to me. God, Palace and I are an absolute majority, and I don't even believe in God.
