Let me start by saying this thread is not meant to be confrontational and is only out there as a suggestion. Dave and James are the kings as one is the owner of the site and the other the treasurer.
Saying that, it was a little frustrating (only a little) when the server was ´way too overloaded´in the second half of todays game. Other than asking people not to post, which defeats the object of the board, is there anyway this problem can be resolved.
Of course, we will have to expect repeats of the problems for the rest of the season, and live with that. But can anything be done for the future. In fact, does Dave want to or have any plans to do anything.
Is there any money for a new server, or is the one we have more than adequate. Perhaps any realistically available upgrade will not solve the problem of match day peaking. Should match time availability of the BBS only be available to those that get on line first - would annoy subscribers, but then the facility wouldn´t fall over completely.
In the scheme of things, not a serious issue. But I am just interested in ways the site could be made better for all. As someone who probably won´t be able to make the play off games should we get there, I would be distraught if my BBS portal was screwed at such crucial times. Just because the empathy with fellow Palace fans at least makes up in part for not feeling the emotions in the flesh. |

I would imagine today was an exception to the rule. I've never known it as bad as it was today.
I'm guessing there was a technical issue going on.
But WTF do I know! |

| You are assuming that to address the challenges of peak server workloads all Dave has to do is 'buy a bigger computer' :D |

Or maybe a larger elastic band. |

| It's just a question of finding time. I don't have much free time these days and if I am brutally honest the behavior of a chunk of our regulars recently hasn't encouraged me to make time. |

It happens everyweek, usually during the last five or ten minutes of the game. |

I can understand your sentiments there. Please let me know if I ever veer into that category.
This thread was just me thinking aloud. |

Especially if we happen to be attacking frantically in the last five and we go and score in injury time. :p Still small inconvenience on a cracking site. I had not been posting much in 2006 and 2007, but have rediscovered the pleasure this year. |

| No worries Howard. Your eyes were probably blurred from a particularly strong curry fest. |
