Good to see them on the pitch, pity there were not a few more. Thought Dave Swindlehurst might be there, assume Kenny Sansom was at the Emirates. Was looking forward to seeing Mike Elwiss who was mentioned in the programme. Any one know the where abouts of some of the others Burridge Nicholas, Walsh. As far as I know Jerry Murphy seems to have no contact with anyone at all.

Peter Nicholas is manager of Llanelli fc, they played in the Welsh cup final yesterday, losing 2-4 to Bangor City. Probably the reason why he could not attend the reunion.

Seems like a good enough reason :D

I also posted under "Sir David Swindlehurst's take on Sunday" in General Palace Discussion.

Ian Walsh with BBC Wales at Cardiff City.
No knowledge of whereabouts of Jerry Murphy.
Unable to contact/get reply from Kenny Sansom.
John Burridge out in Oman/Dubai where he runs his own goalkeeping coaching business.
Nicky Chatterton had a family commitment.
Peter Nicholas was coming until Llanelli got to the Welsh FA Cup Final.
Mike Elwiss also was due to appear but unable to do so at the last minute.

Hope that it will be possible to get them back at SP during next season.

And Terry Fenwick wasn't welcome ;)

John Sewell was at the game. I had a brief chat with him and he was a complete gent.

Also saw Billy Gilbert who had his son with him. His son was taking the piss out of Billy's hair in the 70's and 80's while looking at the pictures fans were asking him to sign.

Did he say anything about where he is at now, or what (if anything) he is doing?

I went to look for his tea and antique store in Paso Robles, California last September, but evidently it has closed down.

I read later it never really recovered after the earthquake they had there a few years ago.

All he said was that he was enjoying his visit.
He hardly looked any different.
Somebody told me he's 70 ish now. He looked in good health, very smart and happy.

He's in Washington State but is still in England at the moment and coming to the Play Off game on Saturday. :lux: :lux:

As Nelson says he was a complete Gentleman. Always conducted himself well at Palace and it was a true honour to meet such a Palace great. :p ;)

This was a really difficult one for Dave Payne to get going. Despite all best efforts we had half the team from '79 there...for the '69 Reunion about 5 Years back I think it was almost a full complement, made doubly special by the presence of the late Bert Head. :(

Must say was a bit disappointed with the turn out , Nicholas, Sansom,Walshie ,Budgie had good excuses, shame bout Swindldes though, spoke to K Dare this week and he told me something about Jerry which he had heard, but I wont repeat it here, will PM anyone if they want to know...... shame

I was in the directors box on a freebee on sunday. After half time Steve kember, billy gilbert and vince hillaire sat right in front of me. Have to say they are top blokes. All very funny, especially vince, and leapt up eveytime we scored clapping above their heads.

I have to say that this topped off the day nicely.

PM me re: Zico Murphy.

Dave Swindlehurst had his godson's birthday to attend, which is a shame.

Just out here in Singapore, John Burridge has been until lately analyser on the Premier League Football Channel out here, great bloke, entertainer, still remember the hand stand routine before the game. Another presenter is Gary O Reily think I should start a new thread with ex Palace players now turned TV Radio commentators or is there one?

There are a lot of rumours about Jerry Murphy.

Some are true.

Some are completely untrue.

And some are downright malicilous.

Make your own judgement here, but just because it's come from a former player doesn't neccessarily make them true.

If the one I've been told on here is true does it matter, nothing illegal.
