Brilliant could'nt have happened to a nicer guy,
over confident ,cocky,arrogant prick.
Just wish it was a knock out,but hey you can't have everything. |

This is of course a post from somone who has never met Witter, if you had you would have found him a polite, charming true gent. You want arrogant you look no further than Amir Khan tell me when there have been stories of Witter knocking people over in his car and driving off. All boxers need to put on a certain amount of arrogance and Witter is no different I agree he cant quite pull it off the same way as say Hatton does but he is a top bloke.
IMHO Witter is the best boxing talent we have in this country at the moment (I may yet be proved wrong with Khan) he has never side stepped anyone and Hatton /Warren were very keen to avoid him and this is part of the reason that Hatton fought only for the WBU belt for a long as it has no mandatory contenders. I feel very sorry for Witter as if Hatton/Warren had wanted to prove that Hatton was the best in Britain he needed to fight Witter but were scared of an upset, win or lose fighting Hatton (and this I would not bet either way) would have got him one the radar and increased his profile leading to more bums on seats . Even when Witter was holding the WBC Lgt Welterweight belt Hatton would not fight why ?
I hope tht he dusts himself down and comes back stronger and gets his title back |

Redandblue, I think if you take last nights fight, there is no way witter has the tools to beat hatton. Bradley was an in your face fighter, and Witter could not keep him away with power or even evasive tactics. Hatton is a lot bigger than Bradley and is one of the best fighters on the inside out there. How do think he would keep Hatton away? The answer is he would not be able to.
To say that Hatton always ducks witter, are you saying that witter is better than mayweather? Hatton does not need witter, Witter needs hatton (now more than ever) thats why the fight has not happened.
Witter is no way the best british talent out there, he was found out last night. Alot of bravado with not a lot to back it up. at 34 I hope he does not come back, he is never going to get into the big time so he will probably just get hurt trying to do so. |

The truth is that Witter needed Hatton and not the other way round. Witter was not on the radar of the big promoters despite his protestations. |
