Doesn't get much of a look in at MU Rowdies. We should be having a look at him.

Good suggestion

Couldn't afford the wages.

It would get mighty confusing though if he turned out to be sh*t and the crowd kept chanting 'Eagles!'

He was on loan though and was much younger. Doubt they would have been paying all his wages.

Don't particularly rate him anyway. He's living off the Man Utd badge and will end up as a journeyman in this division. Oh and let's be honest, people only want him because of his name, don't they :)

I beg to differ. He was very impressive at Watford and a significant factor in their promotion.

By all means. Don't personally rate him though.

I'd be happy to have him in, would be a good addition to the team.
Good player in this league.

no. We should be spending all our money, time and effort to keep Watson et al. Only player we should look to bring in is a target man.

why do you care anyway?

you want to wreck the club by publicising getting rid of one of our best managers, we've probably ever had for this division.

i suppose, you're plugging out suggestions from your past supported club.

Would be great if we could get Eagles in on some sort of loan deal and if we can persuade Sinclaire to rejoin for the season I would be a happy man.

MANCHESTER United wideman Chris Eagles is believed to be the player in talks over a record-breaking move to Turf Moor.

Yesterday morning, boss Owen Coyle revealed that, along with Dutch midfielder Remco van der Schaaf, who signed a three-year deal, he was also speaking to a second player, for whom a "big fee" would be involved.

Coyle wanted to keep the identity of the player secret, saying: "The other one is a bit more complicated, in that there is another club interested in him, but he has real quality.

"We had a terrific meeting with him and his representative, obviously with permission from his club, because there would be a big fee involved in that.

"So we'll wait and see on that one, but we are certainly trying to bring the right players to the football club, and if we are able to sign both, it would be fantastic news for the football club."

I understand the 6ft, 22-year-old Eagles is the player in question, with the fee believed to add up to just over £1.5m in total - beating the deal for Martin Paterson.

Eagles, born in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, is primarily an attacking right-sided winger, who came through the youth system at Watford, before leaving at 14 to join the Manchester United academy.

Eagles made his first team debut for United in October 2003 as a substitute at Leeds in the League Cup, and was sent on loan to Watford in January 2005, before another loan at Sheffield Wednesday for the first half of the 2005-06 season, where he netted at Turf Moor in the December.

He returned to Vicarage Road on loan in January 2006, before agreeing to a spell with Dutch side NEC Nijmegen in August 2006.

Back at United, he has struggled to break into the first team squad, and it appears he could be set for Turf Moor - if the Clarets can beat the unnamed club to his signature

Wonder who the unnamed club are?

I'm not so sure but I think Argyle could be the 'other' club interested in Eagles.

£1.5m for Eagles?

Crikey.

IF we paid £1MILL for Carle (and please don't anyone take this the wrong way) then that price for Eagles doesn't look like a bad one.
Sir.S.C Remembered
£1.5 is not bad for him at all. Good player.
Dal
He has signed for Burnley, on a three-year deal, fee undisclosed.

Might have been a good signing for us.

I kind of think us as well as other clubs have missed the boat on this one, Eagles will be a very good player in this league especially for the £1.25million that has been suggested.Burnley have got themselves a good deal.

Maybe. But Man U have a history of getting good money for players who turn out to be flawed and unable to make it in lower division player. I'm trying to think of the name of the right sided midfielder who joined Reading, now at Norwich for example ...
