Why would we want a 20 year old 6 footer with a good scoring record for Wales and his loan spell with Norwich?
Froma Man city site:
Ched made his City first team debut this season against Norwich City in the Carling Cup Round Three as the Blues came through a tough game 1-0.
Following that substitute appearance in September, Norwich kept an eye on the Wales Under 21 striker and subsequently took the striker on loan a month later until January 1.
On the eve of the start of his spell at Carrow Road, Evans scored a memorable hat trick for the Welsh U21s as they saw off France at Ninian Park.
Two goals and some impressive performances during his time at Norwich built up a reputation and Glenn Roeder persuaded the Blues to allow him to loan Ched again until February 2008. Ched eventually racked up 10 goals in 28 appearances for the Canaries, and he topped the season off by not only making his full debut for Wales but also scoring with virtually his first touch in international football. |

| He`s a class-act, we`ll never be able to get a player like him. Maybe we could try a few strikers from cash-strapped norwegian Club Lyn Oslo; Espen Hoff (26yo) & Odion Ighalo (just turned 19yo), paceful goalscorers... |

| Well we seem to be struggling to get the right man in, so even allowing for Warnock's understandable reluctance to rely on loans a season loan might be good for all parties under the circumstances? |

Why on earth not? He's more than likely to end up at a Champ club (at least in the short term) and so I see no reason why that couldn't be us.
I agree with the suggestion. He's a really bright prospect. |

| If we get him, it would be nothing else then at a loan, I`d prefer getting players permanently. But of course, if we don`t have the possibility of attracting great strikers permanently we should try getting them on loan (players like Sinclair etc...). Anyway, I`ll put all my faith in NW ;) |

We've had one guy NW thought was going to sign and didn't. Disappointing, but hardly a struggle. With nearly 7 weeks of transfer window to go it's far to early to panic. |

| Saw him a couple of times last season at Carrow Road - he looked their best player and did pretty well in a really naff team. |

...... as long as you manage to overlook the fact that the League starts in just over three weeks. |

We've got players, just that we need more. We should use the whole window, or at least up to the last couple of weeks before making panic loan signings. Once we've done the deal we've spent the money and if a better option comes along we won't have the cash to follow it up. |

Disagree on both counts.
We HAVE NOT got players in this position, i have watched both pre seasons and it is frighteningly obvious that we do not. NW has also said we do not have any players to play the main striking role.
If we make a loan signing just before the end of July for 1 month, we get 10 days of training before the season opener and both parties would be suited by an agreement whereby the player returns before the end of the window meaning they can explore offers and so can we. That way we get cover without blowing our money. |

I'm guessing this is a loan option only?
Saw him play for City the other day. Bet Hughes would love to bring through a Welsh forward anyway. |

| Scored the vital goal for them in the UEFA cup yesterday as well as a cracker as the first up in the penalty shootout. Doubt he'll be loaned out. |

They also have...
Bojinov
Vassell
Jo
Caicedo
Benjani
Sturridge
I would expect at least 1 if not 2 of Evans, Sturridge and Caicedo to go out on loan especially if they sign another 1st team striker. |
