Can anyone hook me up with the number of the x-box complaints department please - by this I don't mean a call centre in India where I deal with Mr/Mrs Servicing Providings, who quite clearly don't understand anything other than the script in front of them. I mean someone in England who when I say 'Can you cancel my tracking number with UPS as they can't collect outside of office hours, you've told me previously you also use DHL can I have a tracking number with them instead please' they actually f-ing understand me and do it, not say 'But sir, we will give you a tracking number with UPS and then you can arrange a time during the day when UPS will collect and have a delivery label' because if I hear that response one more time its not Pakistan India needs to watch out for a nuke from, it'll be me :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry

Got the 3 red lights, rang up, got told that UPS would come round and I should call them to arrange a delivery. I ring UPS they say they only collect mon - fri, 9-5. I work office hours so that’s no good to me and I can't take holiday to wait in as all my holiday for the year is taken up with trips to Thailand and New York. The solutions offered to me have been:

- leave my xbox with a neighbour, which I'm not doing as we've only recently moved here and we don't know any of our neighbours
- have UPS collect from my work, can't be done as we're not allowed personal deliveries/collections for security reasons
- 'ring UPS and ask them very nicely if they'll collect outside of their normal hours'. I did, they laughed.
- Go back to the shop (Blockbuster) where I bought my xbox over a year ago and leave it there, er no!
- I told them if UPS couldn't meet my needs I would use Royal Mail Parcel Force and invoice x-box for the costs, I was told this would be ok, try UPS one more time and if no good ring back and we'll give you the address of the repair centre. I ring back and get told 'no sir you can only use UPS, we don’t give out the repair centre address'

I then got a call last Wednesday by a nice lady to see if I'd sent my xbox off to be repaired, I explained the situation, she said 'but sir you can also use DHL, see if they'll pick up outside of hours from you then call us back and we'll give you a tracking number'. I did, they can. I ring back Friday and am told that they will now give me a tracking number and that UPS will be round on Monday and I should contact them to see what time. I begin to lose my temper, explain the situation again, they still don't understand, I ask to speak to a manager and get cut off. Ring back up, repeat the whole situation again, after 15 minutes they finally understand I want to speak to a manager and so put me on hold. 5 minutes of holding later, I give up. I ring back later Friday night, explain the situation yet again, again hear 'This is your tracking number, UPS will be round on Monday' I say 'UPS can't help I need you to cancel that number and arrange for DHL to come round either Saturday morning or Monday evening'. Then the response comes 'I can't arrange that, I will give you a tracking number and then you have to contact UPS to arrange the pick up time'. I repeat the DHL piece again, the woman says she can't do it from her system, I tell her to put me through to a manager/supervisor who can get this done. I get put on hold again and after 10 minutes of waiting I give up having spent 30 mins of my Friday night on this. So in short I've not had my x-box working since 21st May and am still no closer to getting it sorted. :veryangry

Have PM'd you with a possible solution :)

Cheers mate, but like I said I live in Brighton so whilst I really appreciate the offer i'll have to decline.

The plot now thickens, rang X-Box again today. The supervisor's response was a verbal shrug of the shoulders and 'you need to compromise with us as there's nothing else we can do'. So I've decided to bite the bullet and just wait in tomorrow and then work late in the evening to make up the hours. So i've rung UPS, they asked what Microsoft are delivering, I explained they were bringing round a label then taking the x-box away. The response was 'oh no sir, they're just bringing the label, there's nothing here to say they're taking anything away'.

:veryangry

Once I finally get this sorted the x-box is being sold and i'm getting a PS3, i've had my fill

You should try to get PC World to do anything with a broken PC, or get AOL to sort out any broadband problem.

Can you not change your registration details online to someone who you know who will be around during the day and get them to wait in for you instead?

I hate things like this. Why only deliver 9-5 mon-fri it makes no sense at all seeing as most people aren't at home in those hours. Luckily I have a relative who lives close by who is normally in

That's the way it works. You need to be in three times: Once to receive the label; once to hand the box over; and finally to receive the (working) X-Box back again.

You can get the label via email, you can drop the box off to one of the drop off points or get them to pickup from anywhere, place of work, mums house etc.

As for the last part, I've never actually been in, first time they just left it on my doorstep for the whole day, second time they dropped at a neighbours that I had never met.

When mine died the UPS guy dropped the label off and picked it over at the same time. One of the few times I'm not bothered about working saturday mornings and having time off during the week!

Mine went to Havant, which is where the main repair centre is AFAIK. Dunno why they'd send it to Germany or Hungary!

Havant is the place where all UK 360s are sent before being sent onto Eastern Europe, saves M$ money while extending the amount of time us consumers have to wait.

They might send them to Eastern Europe when there is too much work for just one centre to cope with, but I'm pretty sure they repair them in Havant too. Mine got picked up and returned in 4 or 5 days days (the second time!), so it seems unlikely it went off all round europe in that time...

Mine went to Germany and returned in under 1 week. Watched it on a UPS tracker departing Germany and coming back to the UK.

Same here, to Germany (Frankfurt I think) and back in less than a week.

A further update as this thread is quite therapuetic. I rang again asked for the delivery label to be e-mailed to me. Lo and behold I receive the e-mail, click on the link and there's an error in there! I've tried it in Firefox and IE and also at work and at home and the same error comes up. I'm losing my sanity, i just want my x-box back (well taken even!) :sob: :veryangry

That happened to my brother he phoned up and they sent another one (via email) which worked...you're certainly having a hard time of it.
Chris K
yep i've just rung them again. They've said that they'll raise another new repair number and to ring back in 2 hours for a new tracking number. I've just rung back for it to be told to ring back in 48 hours. I'm lost for words
