Needing help here from the Tech monkeys on the BBS!
Why is it that, when I burn a TV show or a movie onto an empty DVD disc from my PC, does the "recorded DVD" not then play on the home DVD player? It just comes up with "unknown disc"!
Why is nothing easy!! |

| Mine won't even get that far. I tried to burn one the other day using nero. I waited 2 hours only to be told that the disc wouldn't work. I have no problems with music. :( |

do you burn it as an ISO or DVD-MOVIE? Does your DVD player support the type of disk you are using? |

| if you are using Nero, select burn DVD VIDEO and put all the files into the RED folder, if the contents are not DVD compliant, Nero will tell you that the disc wont work in a DVD player. |

| Also if you are downloading these TV shows/movies they may be encoded in a format which your DVD might not support. TBH there could be any one of a dozen reasons why it isn't working. |

| ... also with some dvd software you will need to finalise the disc, otherwise it will not be recognised by other players. |
