Crystal Palace could emerge as a surprise suitor for transfer-listed Crewe defender Danny Woodards.
While the Alex haven't fielded any interest in £100,000 rated Woodards since he was put up for sale last month, Palace are among a string of clubs alerted to his availability.
The performances of the right-back were one of the few bright spots during a dismal 2007/2008 campaign, but the former Chelsea trainee forced the hand of Crewe's management by refusing to sign a one-year contract extension. |

Crewe fan on another site said this about him
He's pretty good. He's our best defender by miles, but that's not realyl saying a lot... Quick, good reading of the game, good in the tackle. In this league he stands out at either right-back or centre-back. Too good for us and too good for this division

could be a good player |

But with joshimar(sp) as his biggest influence as his agent i reckon we stand as good a chance as anyone. |

After being plucked from Exeter for a £30,000 fee in January 2007, the 24-year-old has gone on to make 51 appearances for the Railwaymen.
His adviser, Tony Finnigan, said: "No-one has made a bid for Danny, but there's been a few tentative inquiries and I have had a few conversations.
"Crewe have put him up for sale, but done little else. So Stoke, Derby and Walsall are among the clubs I've spoken to."

Pretty sure that I had read something very similar to this in a quote from a Lincoln fan about Hughes. But can't remember if it was on Hols or 606.
That said, with Hughes we made a risk as we were quite uncovered in the left side. With a good cover from Butterfield, Lawrence and the new guy, Ertyl, I think we can afford a gamble on an unproven talent from a lower league. |

| Today's Daily Star say we're weighing up a £100,000 bid for him so it must be fact... |

Also says he's 53 years old.
But looking at photos of him he definitely has two legs. |

| Be a good signing, easily Crewe's best defender; better than Butts at RB. |
