Could be exactly what we are after - quick and a good finisher. Presumably Hughes is deciding whether he will be involved in the first team this season, but if he decides to send him out on loan, I'd hope that we would be straight in there.
I know Warnock has made comment about not relying on loans, other than perhaps Scott Sinclair. |

No - he didn't mention Ben Sahar, only Sinclair. Was on the official site, but can't find it now. |

Boss misses out on Israeli international
Palace boss Neil Warnock has revealed that he made an approach for Chelsea starlet Ben Sahar before the Israeli opted for a switch to Portsmouth.
Warnock has put a new forward at the top of his list with the likely exits of Dougie Freedman and Clinton Morrison and the Eagles boss has told the Advertiser that he was keen on brining Sahar, who was on loan at Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday last season, to Selhurst Park.
He said: "We were in for Sahar, he is type of player I'm looking for -- but obviously he has joined Portsmouth."

Doesn't say anything about a loan, so maybe we tried to get him outright?? |

| From what I remember for Weds and QPR on loan, Sahar's not a targetman type, more a pacy forward. It's at odds at any quotes I've (probably mis)read that NW is after a big man to compete with Scowie. Maybe he wants both types of strikers and we'd be after 2 strikers ? |

Never going to happen, so I doubt we would have been. |

Fringe players at clubs like Chelsea are frequently surprisingly off-loaded. Can't see him at Chelsea long term so would have been worth an ask. |
