Its bothering you now isn't it :D

But the point is that you can't use any set of 3.5 mm headphones that you want, you still have to make sure that they fit which discounts almost all L-shaped jacks for a start

I fully accept that many headphones won't fit however it is a standard 3.5 mm jack and some headphones (see my previous pictures) will fit.

Saying that you need an adapter with the 2G did bother me from the start.

Dave in denial shocker. Again.

The simple truth is that many people DO need an adapter to use non-apple headphones for the 2g IPhone. That's why people buy products like THIS which allow "the headphones you already own to fit within the smaller headphone jack of your [2g] iPhone. "

What's the problem? The original design was ridiculous. Apple obviously recognised this (even if Dave didn't) and changed it for the 3g model.

Yes, I have seen the pictures. I have also played with a 2g model, and have seen the problem for myself. I can assure you that many ordinary earphones will NOT FIT without an adapter.

This is exactly what I posted you donut.

James 19-12-2008 08:52 AM

So what exactly have we been arguing about then?

Oh and you have to use apple headphones as the other standard jacks are just too wide to fit in the socket

Am I the only IPhone user who has had to 'restore' his touch on average one a month?

For the third time since I bought it, my data seems to have become corrupted, and I was invited to restore the IPhone - taking almost an hour to get everything back on it, and up and running.

Is this common?

NO1FAN 20-12-2008 04:51 PM

touch wood i've never had any problems with mine apart from having to reboot about 4 times

Random* 20-12-2008 05:27 PM

DHL = Fail.

Didn't deliver this morning. I'm not going to be able to receive my new iPhone at home for a while, so I'm cancelling the whole thing and I'll retry in the new year.

Dave 20-12-2008 05:31 PM

Can't you just go to an 02 store?

GodstoneEagle 20-12-2008 07:18 PM

I can update to 3G in january. I'm assuming it's worthwhile.

Dave 20-12-2008 07:20 PM

3g upgrade is meh

Dave 20-12-2008 07:20 PM

2g is physically a better device

James 20-12-2008 08:34 PM

Except for the mini-jack problem. :)

GodstoneEagle 20-12-2008 08:36 PM
