I've got a 3Gs and not sure whether to upgrade or not - seem to be mixed reviews. Should I?

Correct, my 3G doesn't have multitasking or wallpaper.
Folders yes, Annoying thread feature in gmail yes , zoom on camera yes, alphanumeric passcode yes but not much more.
Can be a bit sluggish now launching some apps.

If you can get away without the phone crashing during the upgrade, I would say do it. The software seems to have settled down now; my only angst is with the modifications to spellcheck and the keyboard.

iBooks is worth the upgrade alone. They even have the Koran available. :)

I don't get the love of iBooks. I downloaded it and had a play, but to be honest am still using Stanza which can handle ePub.

So can iBooks

Heb 7:4 30-06-2010 09:00 PM

Forgive me. I mean Stanza can handle ePub and every other format.

I have books in pdf, word and ePub. iBooks has a slightly nicer page turning graphic, but that's about it really. You can buy more books straight though your phone with iBooks, but not as many as the Kindle app.

Personally, I like to buy them from whatever store I like and then upload them to my phone anyway

Brett - what does it change on the spellcheck? I love the spellcheck as it is.

Went to send my Iphone 4 back today, as I thought I only had a 7 day return option, but was told I have 28 days. So they have 21 more to fix this stupid ariel issue. Its driving me crazy. :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry :veryangry

I can't imagine this not being approved, but you never know.

You expecting apple to admit they have a problem?! :p

Funk Butter 02-07-2010 06:51 PM

I love how Apple are saying that the problem isn't that the phones are suddenly losing reception, it's that the reception wasn't as good as the phone is showing in the first place.

Quote:

That drop seems exaggerated because the phone can wrongly display four or five bars of signal strength when it shouldn't, Apple said.

"Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place," the company said in a letter to users.

CPFC Cheerleader Observer 02-07-2010 08:51 PM

So there you go. They aren't admitting they have a problem. I'm still unhappy with the ios4 update on my 3G iPhone, I'm certainly not buying this new handset

What is it that you don't like about the new update? My mrs likes the fact you can now at long last, view multiple email accounts!

That's a separate issue. The upgrade for the 3gs is great

DO you really have a problem with the aerial? I've had mine since launch and it's not been a problem for me at all. I can't help but think the problem is all media hype.

Well the upgrade for the 3G appears to be making it rather sluggish.
