Wooden window frames not taken care of… FFS just a bit of care/bit of paint once a year and it’s sorted… so many left to rot and then need expensive replacement. Madness.

When you move house and find the previous owners have tried to take care of the wooden window frames with a lick of paint but have been unable to not paint the glass as well which looks awful and sloppy.

Switching mortgage under the current situation. Makes me miss the innocence of childhood when I didn't have to think about these things.

We once used an absolute cowboy of a decorator to paint a downstairs bathroom just before Christmas. Made such a shit job I had to redo it myself afterwards, but out of many, many ****ups he made in a room of 5 ft x 3 ft, gloss painting the window shut so it couldn't reopen was probably one of the worst.

Waiting for a plumber to give us a quote to refurbish a bathroom - 6 weeks and it still hasn't appeared. He's now on holiday - quelle suprise.
Makes me wonder about how long the job might take.

Surely this is a huge red flag to not engage his services?

Seems to be a very thin line these days between a tradesman and a DIY-er you actually have to pay for. I think a lot of people emerged post-pandemic and said "yeah, no more office - I'm a pro decorator now - how hard can it be?"
