O2 shope do a clear plastic case(19.99) which is good and doesn't make the phone bulky at all and is more like a second skin to it then some of the other cases about

New iphone operating system announcement tomorrow, OS3.0 according to rumours on the web.

Its being described as "advance preview of what we're building" so not going to be available tomorrow.

Reduction in order to clear stocks in advance of release of new model? Apple normally update the iphone in June, I would imagine that the new OS will be released around this time too.

As delighted as I am with my new I-phone, I have found that I have lost the cellular signal on more occasions over the last 4 days than I did during 10 years as a Vodafone customer. I called 02 customer services tonight and their advice was surprising. If I don't want my phone calls to be interrupted due to losing a signal I should switch my phone from 3g to 2g mode. The 02 advisor said that they were constantly improving their 3g Network but this does tend to confirm what I have read, that Vodafone is the only Service Provider in the UK that has a reasonable 3g Network.

My phone calls get cut off all the time. I often joke that whilst the iphone is a great games machine / email client / weather centre / guitar tuner / music player / internet radio / web browser / gps device etc etc etc

...it really is a piss poor phone.

PalaceMonkey 17-03-2009 10:05 AM

Really? I've never been cut off.
I tend not to make many long calls though, so maybe that's why

Dave 17-03-2009 10:06 AM

Me neither, although I prefer the crackberry for longer calls

Looks like there is a bunch of good stuff in the new firmware, hope the iphone dev team jailbreak it asap

Anonymous 17-03-2009 10:10 AM

like what good stuff? any hints?

Dave 17-03-2009 10:17 AM

mms, cut and paste, forward sms, archive sms

Anonymous 17-03-2009 10:43 AM

MMS is very handy, cut and paste could be.

I'd like an ipod search function - there don't seem to be one within the app.

Anonymous 17-03-2009 10:43 AM

forward sms as well is handy
