Is there anyway to add music to your iphone without using the itunes on your 'home machine'. I've got a CD here that I want to put on my iphone. Do I have to take the CD home to do it, or is there another way?

I'll take that as a no then.

Don't try and unlock it to another network, but apart from that, it would appear that the worst that *could* happen on 2.2.1 is that you'd need to restore your iPod then re:patch.

I killed mine by turning it off during a Winterboard update, but a quick restore fixed it.

In fact, for Apple and particularly in conjunction with using Apple gear on a PC, restoration is really quite simple and elegant.

But that shouldn't be necessary at all.

Anyway Kev Whats the worst that could happen ? you have to take it back and say some blokes on 'tinternet said do this and it turned into an expensive door stop :D

Kevin T 16-02-2009 09:27 PM

Where's a good tried and tested link that will talk me through jailbreaking then?

Anonymous 16-02-2009 09:44 PM

And once you've done it, install winterboard, run Cydia and go to themes in sections, then select a new theme. You can then change your theme through the winterboard settigns.

Don't do as I did and turn-off during a winterboard update tho :moo:

Kevin T 16-02-2009 10:40 PM

Do i install Winterboard through Cydia or the standard app store?

Anonymous 16-02-2009 10:44 PM

see my PM :)

But Cydia.

Niceaction 16-02-2009 10:49 PM

What apps are you using regularly on the jailbroken iphone Ricky? Or have you done for the themes/customisation side?
I want to know if it's worth the hassle or not. If its just for a nice theme I wont bother.

Kevin T 16-02-2009 10:49 PM

Yay! I've got my Bluetooth button on the Home screen :D

It's really no hassle. Much easier than I'd envisaged.

It's no hassle - it's a piece of piss.

If you don't have it already, upgrade to 2.2.1, then use the tool. PM me for details.
