I showed her the document on my tablet, but she still refused.
Thanks for the help, but I think I'm gonna have to admit defeat.

Page 19 says : [No school shall] require parents, or otherwise make them feel obliged, to attend school to administer medication or provide medical support to their child, including with toileting issues. No parent should have to give up working because the school is failing to support their child’s medical needs.

This doesn't appear to be qualifiedby thenumber of times medication needs to be taken!

I wouldn't admit defeat so easily; it seems quite explicit.

That's what I thought, but head said it's on the East Sussex schools website that medicine taken 3 times daily is the responsibility of the parents. I get the impression that the teacher doesn't want to do it, maybe there was a issue previously with another pupil and the teacher has just refused to give medication to anyone else? The reason I say this, is because she has mentioned the legal ramifications for the school if things go wrong.
Anyway thanks for the help, but the I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall with the school, so I'll just drive up every lunch time to give daughter meds.

Fortunately you can, but what would happen if you worked further away or in a job where you couldn't get out readily?

Nork1 13-11-2015 01:05 PM

TV and radio ads with ukuleles/acoustic guitars and twee - usually girly - vocals.

I do shift work, sometimes I'm around sometimes I'm not... I'm working until 3am, I explained to head, although I'm not at work I would like to sleep as I'm getting to bed at 4am, getting up at 7am, getting daughter ready for school doing school run then getting home getting a few more hours kip then having to get up do a 9 mile round trip just to give my daughter a spoonful of medicine while her teacher watches me.
I'm kinda battle fatigued by it all....maybe it's lack of sleep, but it all seems ridiculous to me.

hate it when you go abroad and you have to put toilet roll in a bin. Primitive countries.

I used to work on a building site with a bricklayer who was so proud of his shit he wanted the whole site to see it. He purposely didn't flush prior to laying a cable so that it stuck to the down flap in the portaloo. He then wiped his arse and took the toilet paper and put it in the skip so that his prized effort was on full show for the next poor fecker who entered the portaloo. He probably doesn't concur with your grievance.

I suggest you write to the Board of Governors asap.

mushroom 13-11-2015 02:06 PM

She only has to take medicines until Wednesday, I'm going to print document and give it to one of the governers in the playground on early school run. Probably won't be sorted in time for my daughter, but hopefully they'll change their policy for future cases.

Yoda 13-11-2015 02:18 PM

Hard luck Mushroom, sounds to me like the Head is deliberately being unhelpful. Their decision is certainly not in the spirit of the Govt document we've been discussing.

I can understand you feeling this isn't worth a big bunfight, as the situation will be finished soon.

But your idea of giving it to a Governor and highlighting the relevant sentences might help another parent in the future.

Football on Friday nights.

Friday nights is for boozing. Save the games for Saturday or Sunday.

Seeing as they compliment each other perfectly I can't see the problem.

The weekend could potentially be ruined before it's started, and either way, it leaves nothing to look forward to on the Saturday.

Apart from those jobs around the house you promised the missus/trip to Ikea/time with the kids etc

(Kill me now)

People constantly driving 10mph above the speed limit ;)

I don't drive but when I was taking lessons it would annoy me when an inconsiderate driver would come right up behind me when there was no space to overtake, especially when I was driving at the speed limit for the road!

Some people seem to forget that they were once learners themselves!

Eaglesfan1 13-11-2015 04:50 PM

Oh and away fans who complain that Selhurst Park is a hard ground to get to, especially fans of teams who play in the middle of nowhere.

ReadingPalace 13-11-2015 05:10 PM

Children In Need. I know it's a great cause, but why is the content of the TV programme so consistently woeful? It's as it they have a policy of not ever doing anything funny in case they get sued by Comic Relief. I also find that bear and Terry Wogan incredibly annoying.

I've just donated £25 to make up for being such a killjoy. (I've not been well, you know.)
