Topps do a Premier League Sticker album, and they also make the Match Attax trading cards. :) They don't begin finalising the collections until 1st September, so that new signings are included in the correct teams.
Recently picked up a couple of cards I wasn't aware of TOPPS England 2005 Cards (issued in Japan) Nos 54 and 55 (both AJ) http://footballprogrammecentre.co.uk.../597_aj1_1.jpg http://footballprogrammecentre.co.uk.../597_aj2_1.jpg |
Match Attax 13/14 cards came out 26 September. 22 glorious Palace cards!

A couple of overseas issues whilst we're waiting for the Premier League sticker album to come out (in January :p )
Series = 2013-14 A League + Socceroos trading cards series (issued in Australia) Within the series are "Socceroos" cards - "ROAD TO RIO" - a 25-card set randomly inserted amongst the series. Odds: 1: 4 Packs. This set features the Socceroos who have represented Australia and qualified for the 2014 Brazil FIFA World Cup. Card S13 is Mile Jedinak, as features rather nice gold embossing http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psa6296811.jpg next..... Series = Panini 2014 Road to the FIFA World Cup Brazil (sticker album) Issued in many countries, but not the UK (over here they sold 'Adrenalyn' Road to Brazil cards, however no Palace players featured - not even Jedinak as Australia weren't included) Anyway, back to the stickers, which were issued in July 2013. Sticker number 370 is Adlene Guedioura of Algeria (not number 401 as shown in pic) http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps29a34b49.jpg |
WH Smiths in Dorking received boxes of Premier League stickers today. They go on sale from tomorrow.
From what I can find online, there seems to be 16 'normal' stickers and also some extra foil ones The 16 'normal' ones comprise:- 12 players 1 badge 1 manager (hopefully Pulis and not Holloway!) 2 stickers making up the team photo 165 - Crystal Palace/Everton kit sticker 177 - Mile Jedinak - Pro 11 Crest URL=http://s296.photobucket.com/user/dorkingeagle123/media/foil_zpsb313b47e.jpg.html]http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psb313b47e.jpg[/URL] http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps91e2accf.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps40f89bb6.jpg |

It turns out that the Topps Premier Gold cards will only be available in the US and Canada because of licensing issues. So I've bought the 'Palace' share in a 'case break' consortium. It's over US$1200 for a case, but I paid a tiny fraction of that and get all the Palace ones from that, which hopefully should give me most of the Palace base cards for the lowest price, then it'll just be a case of hunting online dealers and the web for any Jersey (relic) cards, auto cards and other rare parallel cards that I can find.

Have unearthed a few old Palace stickers and cards. Haven't followed this thread right from the beginning so apologies if posting up stuff you've seen already.
Don't know where these stickers are from but guessing between 1970-72. http://i.imgur.com/0KCyCpVl.jpg Panini 80 http://i.imgur.com/p2Ry2FBl.jpg Vince Hilaire 1980. Not 100% sure where this sticker originates from as it has no back to it - must've fallen out from the sticker book. From memory I think it was a Sun or Mirror production. I do remember the quality being pretty sh*t. Some of the attempts at pasting a newly signed player's head onto a picture of another player from the club he'd recently joined was laughable. http://i.imgur.com/VMSc4ejl.jpg Panini 86 & 87 badges. http://i.imgur.com/2KvX1Jdl.jpg?1 Panini 88 Jim Cannon http://i.imgur.com/N9qL3Ydl.jpg Panini 90 collection http://i.imgur.com/s19DRysl.jpg |

1983-84. Sure many of you remember these postcard pictures they used to sell in the club shop.
Peter Nicholas, Andy McCulloch, George Wood, Henry Hughton http://i.imgur.com/2JfXTTtl.jpg Kevin Mabbutt, Vince Hilaire, Stan Cummins http://i.imgur.com/Kp3TEMsl.jpg |
Random: a pack of Palace playing cards. Each card had an embossed golden Eagle on the back. Not sure if this was bought from the club shop or elsewhere.
http://i.imgur.com/M6e9Tfhl.jpg |
The first two (Kember and Birchenall) are VERY unusual - never seen them before, and no idea what set or series they are from. The rest are common, but nice items to have nevertheless.
The playing cards are club shop ones, from a time when the club shop sold a wide range of cheap stuff. |

INT7 - Jedinak 'Superstar' http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps49cf2384.jpg It's a UK release variant, but was only featured on sheets of six cards - which were given away with newspapers etc at the time the original set was released. Hence the perforations |

When I was going through ebay for some old Palace cards I came across some old squad pictures... We had this weird habit of having kits in our team photos that were never used...
For example, 1990/91 Nigel Martyn in a yellow Goalkeeper shirt with fuzzy black lines that was never worn, and Suckling / Woodman in a Pink version of the Green keeper shirt Nige would wear from the ZDS Final onwards, the Pink one was never worn. Then the 1991/92 Squad photo, all the Non playing staff are in the Previous seasons All Blue kit with Tulip Computers on the front, this also was never worn as our Away kit that season was the Brazil kit. |

Match Attax - another variation
Another Match Attax variation has caught my attention.
From the original 2013/14 set, card No 77, Mariappa http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps3526249b.gif The original card has the stats as Defence 22/ Attack 67 The corrected card has the stats as Defence 67/ Attack 22 Most card dealers such as on ebay etc will have the wrong (early) version, as they buy their stocks on the day the cards come out. More news in the next day or two of 3 new Palace players on Match Attax! |

Match Attax Russian release 2013/14 - Yes, I managed to get one of each Palace card (unfortunately only one of each card was on ebay as Buy it Now"s) - ebay seller was neil_goulding
Match Attax Vietnam edition 2013/14 - nothing yet. There are only 3 cards for each club as each is issued in a packet of crisps (memories of Andy Linighan in packets of Wotsits) called Poca Chips. So 60 players in total. The 3 Palace Players are Speroni, Bannan and Jedinak (I think). They are small and made of thin plastic for practical reasons. |
Yet more Palace Match Attax!!!!
As mentioned in post #558 (above) today saw the release of three more Palace Match Attax cards!!
The original 2013/14 set had 22 different Palace cards (not including the Mariappa variation) Then there was the Jedinak 'Superstar' promo card Then only 15 days ago, Match Attax 'Extra' came out, and it featured 9 more Palace cards. Apparently, this set came out a few weeks earlier then it normally does, because Topps wanted to get on with issuing World Cup cards. Some collectors were rather critical of the 'Extra' set (it takes all sorts!), because the main January transfers were not featured, and some of the cards in the set were already out of date (eg Campana featured for Palace despite him having left for Nuremburg in January) Anyway today, three sheets of 6 (18 new cards) were issued, to hopefully address the gaps, and also to act as promotional items. The sheets look like this:- http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psd3c2322c.jpg There are 3 new Palace cards amongst the 18 new ones EX7 Scott Dann Star Signing EX8 Tom Ince Star Signing EX9 Joe Ledley Star Signing So the only January 'new signing' for Palace not actually featured is Wayne Hennesey - not unreasonable really considering he hasn't played (and probably won't this season either) These cards are perforated :( although apparently ones with smooth edges should be available direct from Topps (eventually) or at their 'Swap and Play' tours if that matters. They are 'officially' available by buying MOTD QUIZ SPECIAL magazine, which came out today in WH Smiths (£2.99) - for that you get the mag, 2 packets of Extra cards, and one promo sheet of these 6 new cards. Needless to say, the three different Palace cards are on 3 different sheets, so in theory you'd need to buy 3 copies of the mag to get them all (the contents are in a sealed polybag, but you can see which card sheet you get with each to ensure you don't duplicate)....OR you can just use a well known auction website and cut out all the hassle :D I know which method I prefer! Overall, Match Attax has really covered this season and our multitude of players very thoroughly. The only notable absence is Glenn Murray, and you never know, maybe even he will feature in a future promotional sheet before the end of the season? EDIT - Incidentally, Topps didn't bother doing a set of Championship cards this season, so good thing we're in the Prem really! |

It's your bog standard Panini World Cup sticker album stickers. No pics of the Jedi or Pep stickers yet (there are 640 in the collection and it only came out today) (although I've ordered my stickers of both) however the format is like these:-
http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psa1cd3d5e.jpg There will also be a Topps 'England 2014' sticker album, due out April 3rd or 4th. Not clear yet whether this will feature Jedi or Pep, I'd hope Jedi would feature at least. This is the typical format:- http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps94f805e5.png It should be noted that Topps don't have the licenses for any teams other than England, so they will have a very much 'unofficial' appearance compared to the Panini collection (which is after all the 'daddy' of World Cup sticker collections). Topps are aiming for the hard up kids market though at just 25p per pack and 7 stickers per pack!! |

Off track , but Roy Hodgson has Croydon on his sticker . A first I would imagine
|
Probably, yes.
There was only ever one actual Croydon Common player featured on a cigarette card (Gallaghers) Some rare cards:- Some 2013/14 Topps Premier League stickers featured unique codes on the back. If you then went online and played their online game (and finished high up on the weekly leaderboard) you would be entitled to one Limited edition 'Gold' player card and sticker. There were 6 different Palace cards:- http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psc0c9fb76.jpg |
In Vietnam, the Premier League is very popular. One brand of crisps, Poca Chips gave away Premier League Match attax cards in packs.
There were 60 cards in the series, 3 for each of the 20 clubs. The 3 Palace ones are below. NB The Jedinak one is a 'rainbow foil' http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psd82bbf25.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps9682b2d0.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psfc203518.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psce00600a.jpg The cards themselves are a fair bit smaller than proper Match Attax cards, and made of thin plastic |
For the last few weeks I have been popping into my tescos local and resisting the temptation of the Panini sticker album. But tonight I was offered a free album and, like a crack addict, bought 8 packs. (Got the shinny number 0 ) I can't sleep even though I have to get up early, as I need to get my next fix. My 10 year old is not happy as I won't let him put them in because "you won't do them straight". He, however, will be my swappsie stooge at school, as I would be arrested for hanging round the playground after the bell has gone.

Post #584 showed a couple of stickers from this years Navarette World Cup sticker album (Peru)
I did a tiny bit of research and it turns out they've been doing World Cup stickers for years. This is from the 2002 set. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...psead83152.jpg |
Here is an unusual one.
In Switzerland, there is a World Cup sticker book called Tschutti-Heftli. It has been going for all major tournaments since 2008. It is nothing like any other football stickers or cards I have seen before (okay maybe the strange artwork of Sun Soccercards, but apart from that....) The special thing about these sets that is isn't just the footballer on a sticker, it is a piece of art created by a visual artist. The participating 40 artists from all over the world were chosen following a contest. They had to make their impression of Pele. A jury of 10, including Pele himself, choose the 40 artists. Every artist draws all stickers of one national team. So each team has a style of its own. Another special thing is that it is not a commercial issue. Of each pack sold 0,10 Swiss Franc will go to the Swiss Terres des Homme. The rest of the money is for production costs and for the magazine they issue. The set consists of 490 stickers There was a sticker for Jedinak, but not for Guedioura (were they psychic??) In Switzerland, Tschuttibildli are collected mainly by adults (like me) and Panini mainly by children. Different audience, different product. Mass market vs. Connaisseurs, if you like. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps3353abf2.jpg |
the countdown has begun...
2014/15 Match Attax cards should be out on or around 25 September
