There's complete sets of Panini Championship cards on ebay if you don't want to order from Panini online.

Also the 1st Palace echo card set on there too, should it interest Palace card collectors;)

What git is selling those I wonder?

Dorking .Eagle 12-04-2007 03:32 PM

At least you're the one who's taken the initiative and has put them on there - good for you I say - it must be annoying to see other people selling bundles of 2nd hand fanzine back-issues when you've probably got piles of them in your loft!

Neil the Eagle 13-04-2007 09:15 AM

I don't ever begrudge people selling bundles of fanzines. I'd do it myself if they ever went for a decent price, because as you say I have quite a few tucked away here, but more often than not they remain unsold.

That said, I am planning to have a massive ebay clearout of old Palace (and Dr Who) memorabilia over the summer which will include big bundles of cards, not just the Echo ones... just another job I will have time for without the Echo to worry about.

stupalace 14-04-2007 06:04 AM

Neil, any chance yo could do a list nearer the time and send it to me of what you have and we could arrange a price ?

Neil the Eagle 15-04-2007 09:31 AM

The list of cards for sale/swop is no problem, indeed, I've got a feeling you've seen it before.

The list of programmes would take far too long. Once I've extracted what I need from the piles lying around at my mother's house I'm just going to bundle 'em up in season lots and flog 'em (they cover mainly 1988 onwards, although there are a few older/rarer ones which I will list separately) ... but feel free to let me know if you have any specific programme wants.

I'm not selling any shirts at this time, but might list some leisurewear (but no I don't have a 98/99 bench coat ;) )

That's been about for quite a while now, wrong kit an' all!

JOHN1509 10-05-2007 12:57 PM

a bit of money for just getting that one card

Dorking .Eagle 10-05-2007 01:08 PM

I would have thought that the specialist catalogues like David Schollicks' (can't remember the other ones - stopped getting them sent as it was a waste when I only ever ordered about 1 card per catalogue) will sell them individually at a pound a card or something like that, so that you can get just the one that you want

Just had an interesting email from Panini

They've launched a new product range called "MyPanini"

You can basically create your own sticker collection!

If you want just one sticker album with 10 unique stickers, and a personalised cover, it is £23.03

If you are more confident you can sell sets of stickers, they can do the following :-

20 sticker albums, each with 25 different stickers = £9.49 an album

90 sticker albums, each with 75 different stickers = £12.73 an album

I would have thought only the very first item an option, ie make your own sticker album of 10 stickers, but it's an interesting development in sticker collecting - if you have a very niche subject (ie CPFC) you no longer have to wait for a set to come out - you can have your own made up!

yeah, but why aint palace looking at this . a 400 - 500 sticker collection , some stickers free with certain match programmes . 30p a packet of 6 atickers from the club shop. others free with certain things , its a marketing managers dream . also means palace wont be doing anything

Interesting info, Dave. Thanks. I might well have a look at this for next year's Echo cards.

Looks like my ebay luck is turning...

Last week I won a pre-WWII card that I didn't even know existed - Crescent confectionary - W.A.Morgan.

This week, thanks to a tip off for which I am supremely grateful, I scored the rare 1908 Taddy Needham card (see earlier posts), which had been obscurely listed.

Four more to go...

:lux:

Dorking .Eagle 05-09-2007 04:52 PM

Glad you got it Neil, and what a bargain price! It was the one that eluded my set for over 10 years, so to have it appear on ebay again within a year is quite strange (but good)

Scored a rare one myself a couple of weeks ago, which I never knew existed...

LTA ROBINSON - Football Stars of Today and Tomorrow. Not sure of year of issue, but the fact it features Ronnie Rooke and the biography on the back narrows it down..

Neil the Eagle 05-09-2007 05:01 PM

I feel really guilty about the price, mate, given what you ended up paying for yours only a few months back...

That Rooke is a nice one, too. I ended up getting two as one was very badly listed on ebay without picture - I didn't connect it and thought I was getting the Chix card instead.

Dorking .Eagle 05-09-2007 05:42 PM

Don't feel bad at all - it was worth the extra because it was the final one I needed, and so increases the value of the other 14 by more than just the value of 1 card.
