Looks more like Borge Thorup than Per Bartram (if it is one of them)!

A couple of overseas issues whilst we're waiting for the Premier League sticker album to come out (in January :p )

Series = 2013-14 A League + Socceroos trading cards series (issued in Australia)

Within the series are "Socceroos" cards - "ROAD TO RIO" - a 25-card set randomly inserted amongst the series. Odds: 1: 4 Packs.

This set features the Socceroos who have represented Australia and qualified for the 2014 Brazil FIFA World Cup.

Card S13 is Mile Jedinak, as features rather nice gold embossing

next.....

Series = Panini 2014 Road to the FIFA World Cup Brazil (sticker album)

Issued in many countries, but not the UK (over here they sold 'Adrenalyn' Road to Brazil cards, however no Palace players featured - not even Jedinak as Australia weren't included)

Anyway, back to the stickers, which were issued in July 2013. Sticker number 370 is Adlene Guedioura of Algeria (not number 401 as shown in pic)

WH Smiths in Dorking received boxes of Premier League stickers today. They go on sale from tomorrow.

From what I can find online, there seems to be 16 'normal' stickers and also some extra foil ones

The 16 'normal' ones comprise:-

12 players
1 badge
1 manager (hopefully Pulis and not Holloway!)
2 stickers making up the team photo

165 - Crystal Palace/Everton kit sticker
177 - Mile Jedinak - Pro 11

I shall be collecting them with my Grandson :p

It turns out that the Topps Premier Gold cards will only be available in the US and Canada because of licensing issues. So I've bought the 'Palace' share in a 'case break' consortium. It's over US$1200 for a case, but I paid a tiny fraction of that and get all the Palace ones from that, which hopefully should give me most of the Palace base cards for the lowest price, then it'll just be a case of hunting online dealers and the web for any Jersey (relic) cards, auto cards and other rare parallel cards that I can find.

FFS Topps, why make it so bloody complicated! Thank god I don't collect Man Utd cards - imagine the competition amongst collectors for the rarest limited edition ones!

EDIT - I've been thinking about these overnight (yes really!) and whilst it is brilliant that there is finally a TOP quality card series being produced for English football, I do doubt what the market is likely to be....

5-12 year olds will continue to collect the stickers and Match Attax cards (as they can play a game with the match attax), and I suspect these will be too high a price point for many kids. Adult card collectors are largely 'single club' collectors in this country, so loads won't want to buy packets and packets of these - they will just use internet dealers and ebay instead. I really can't think that they will take off like US Baseball cards (which are an institution)

Topps premier gold is not new , been out for a long time . Certainly we had a set in 1998

Keith Millen is the palace manager in the new premier league sticker book

Yep I've got that set, but this is the first such set for over a decade, and the first 'American baseball' style set for UK Soccer with numerous inserts, jersey relics, quad auto book cards, unique printing plate cards and so on. It'll be a massively popular set in Asia. Luckily Palace will be probably the least popular team in the set

bubbs11 12-02-2014 04:29 PM

Not a sticker or card but certainly a Palace curio.

I should sport this button at matches like you would a Victoria Cross. Certainly a badge of gallantry having to endure that season.

It would get you a seat on a packed train ahead of a Baby On Board badge wearer!

Have unearthed a few old Palace stickers and cards. Haven't followed this thread right from the beginning so apologies if posting up stuff you've seen already.

Don't know where these stickers are from but guessing between 1970-72.

Vince Hilaire 1980. Not 100% sure where this sticker originates from as it has no back to it - must've fallen out from the sticker book. From memory I think it was a Sun or Mirror production. I do remember the quality being pretty sh*t. Some of the attempts at pasting a newly signed player's head onto a picture of another player from the club he'd recently joined was laughable.

Random: a pack of Palace playing cards. Each card had an embossed golden Eagle on the back. Not sure if this was bought from the club shop or elsewhere.
