Nothing noticeable has changed.

Brett 21-06-2010 09:28 PM

As said above, it feels snappier but that may be because:

All of my e-mails have been deleted
Apps have been reordered and in some cases, deleted
All of my music has been deleted and requires re-syncing

You may be ok. Phone crashed during the backup stage of the update and that is where the problems started.

That would be it, so is that not the phone not the software that is the problem?

If the phone crashed regularly, perhaps. In this case, the first crash has occurred only during the iOS4 upgrade.

My back-up is taking forever!!!

Blind_Eagle 21-06-2010 11:08 PM

Just finished the upgrade on an iPhone 3G and haven't lost any personal data, emails or music. Mind you I don't actually see any differences other than integrated email and a crappy zoom on the camera that is no better than plenty of free apps out there. Not sure what else to expect from the upgrade tbh.

Initial thoughts is that the phone is running like a dog. :(

Brett 21-06-2010 11:47 PM

Wife's upgrade was effortless.

Beginning to suspect I was extremely unlucky and Apple's servers crashed momentarily whilst iTunes was communicating with Cupertino during backup.

Blind you still on the 3g?

I obliterateed mine at Hillsborough and got a new one on the insurance. Unfortunately they don't give out the 3g anymore so they had to upgrade me to the 3gs ;)

LLCOOLSTEVE 22-06-2010 12:03 AM

It still wants to take 5 hours to download......

When did Dave become so anti-iPhone?

Downloaded in about 5 minutes for me. The backup/restore process took far too long but then all iTunes related updates always seem to take far too long.

Mostly painless though.

It's happened over a while. The final straw was when they refused to bring multitasking in any form to the 3G.

The fact they now share your location with partners is now game over for me.
