The 4.1 iOS update has improved my iPhone 3G performance but i still think its slower than it was prior to the 4.0 update

I have a question RE: emails. Before one of the OS updates I used to go into emails and it would list them, I would slide my finger across one and it would give the option to 'delete' and send to trash. Now when I do the same action I only get the option to 'archive'. I have tried fiddling with the settings but can't seem to change it back so that I can delete emails from my inbox, does anyone know how I can make 'delete' the default option?

Settings --> Mail Contacts Calendars -->

Choose the account

Turn Archive messages to Off.

I think that sorted it for me.

All done now Allan, Ta. :p

One question. Whilst looking at the BBS on it (in particular the Palace/Pompey Updade thread) i found i very awkward to refresh as each time you have to scroll up the top of the page and hit the circular refresh button and then scroll all the way down. On a laptop obvioulsy you just hit F5. Is there such a way you can refresh a page without scrolling all the way to the top of the page? Alternatively a refresh button next to the reply box at the bottom of the page would be useful.......Dave ;)

tap the top middle of the screen for a quick scroll to the top

cheers for that, updated to 4.1 last night and spent ages this morning trying to work out how to delete them

Thanks Godstone. Also, is there a knack to zooming? One minute i tap the screen and it only slightly zooms, another time it will zoom in REALLY close.

Handled an iPhone 4 for the first time today - wow! I love it to bits and the retina screen has to be seen to be believed. Had it showing the same web page next to my 3GS and the difference in screen quality is staggering.

Can't really justify upgrading in-contract but it's nice to know I'll have that to look forward to in iPhone 5.

if you tap it will depend on whats on the page if its a web page it will go to the column size of the page. better to put two fingers (index and thumb are best) and move them away in a reverse pinch to do a controlled zoom and reverse to zoom out again

and as siad before anywhere with a scroll if you tap the time you will scroll to the top of the page - contacts/messages/web pages etc

For a mere novice on this new device any helpful suggestions or user tips are gratefully received. :p

I'm trying to watch the Palace highlights on BBC website but says I don't have the correct flash player. When attempting to download it it says not possible. Is there a way round this?
