Great another useless icon "newsstand" to go alongside "stocks"
I have also had loads of trouble with my apple id. I now have two as i needed to use an email address for icloud, which is most likely going to be another "service" I don't want or need. All getting very confusing.

Where do apps go when you close them now? If they really now close then that will be great but I found that I knew as soon as my kids had got hold of my phone as it ran so slowly. Killed off all the apps they had started and hey presto all working fine. Now if you dont have the ability to kill will we be switching off an on the phone again???

iCloud is your apple Id

I carried out the iOS 5 update but now the phone seems to run slower. Is this normal? Seems to take ages in camera to actually take the picture at times.

What are the main features of the update?

On the iPhone it should at least allow you to put it in a folder or ditch it on and off like the Nike app.

Don't use it on phone, like on ipad

Newsstand would be useful if you could get the Palace matchday programme on it. I don't buy the physical copy anymore as it's a pain to keep them boxed up but would be up for an 'e' version.

Tweeted Terry Byfield about it but no reply. :(

I fixed my ipbooks issue by resyncing a few times

Well this update has been a disaster. With the addition of the email as your I'd for apple I'd it has killed my old I'd and I can't get in now so a load of credit and the apps that I paid for are all stuffed. Called apple and they say it's been a nightmare and , this is the best bit, " haven't a clue what to do its all too complicated and confusing"
The other pain is that batt life on the iphone 4 has plummeted. Very pissed off at the moment. Spent hours on this sat. They are closed sun and I am away for 4 days so really stuffed. :veryangry

I can't I can't get in it tells me my password is wrong, I reset via mail and the mail does not arrive and the details are wrong. It's as though it has been hijacked but that would have been an amazing coincidence that it happened just as as I did the upgrade.

Dumb question. Why don't iPhones, iPads an android phones have problems with malware etc?

I should have thought that the answer is because you can't run programmes on them. You can run Apps - but unless your device is jailbroken - these are carefully controlled.

I believe that some jailbroken Apps have caused problems.

I've been trying to download IOS5 since it was released. It is just not having it.

I've unistalled and then reinstalled Itunes, I've made sure that it is running 10.5 (which it is) but it just sits on 'Backing Up Iphone". The green, left to right sliding downloading bar is working (which suggests that it is doing something), but it has just said the same thing for about an hour now. Prior to reinstalling the backup wasn't even moving.

Is it just a case of being patient, is it odnwloading the update (?) or should I stop the download and try again?

Personally I wouldn't even bother. My battery is being hammered since the update. Anyone else notice this ?

No change to battery life on iphone 4

montstar 17-10-2011 04:07 PM

I dont know if you have noticed but if you have friends with ios5 and have them in your contacts as iphone then when you message them the messages should be blue not green which means free! Not a problem with most people with decent contracts but great for mms 's! - though it has to be said I havent tried an mms on it yet!

Lasts 7-midnight for me with Location Services on, wi-fi on/off and other things.

Fine by me.
