If you are connected to WiFi, it won't use your allowance at all. Away from WiFi however, and your Phone will use the 3g data and the amount will obviously depend upon what you are using your Phone to do.

Browsing the web (i.e. reading the BBS) will use a small fraction of your allowance, as will using Google maps, checking stock prices or the weather etc. Streaming from the Radio will use a bit more - around 1 or 2 MB per minute. Your 500MB would give you several hours listening to a streaming radio station (more or less depending upon the quality).

Video uses bandwidth fast. Again, there is no precise measure, because it depends upon the quality. HD video uses many times the bandwidth of standard video. Your data allowance won't last long if you spend much time on TV Catchup and/or watching YouTube videos without a WiFi connection.

I'm after a lead that will Connect my iPhone 4 and iPad2 (that I intend to get shortly) to a tv and transfer videos and play sound. The video as it stands is on YouTube but hope to be able to save it to my iPhone/iPad or failing that play direct from YouTube.

Any recommended links would be great. It's for a wedding speech i have to do and to project pictures.

I have looked on amazon but varied reviews on some that say some advertised don't do as they say so need to know the one I get works for both video and sound and also for both iphone4 and ipad2.

Query for people on 3 One Plan contracts: Why does the My3 page for my account show the amount of available Internet allowance for the month when the One Plan comes with "all you can eat data"? Surely that means my allowance is unlimited?

Is there a distinction between data obtained over wifi and 3G?

Would Apple TV let me stream football from the internet, through my telly?

I reckon iPad 3 in March, iPhone 5 later in the year. Apple have never had such a short release cycle between phones before.

yep, that's my guess as well.

Hopefully they will have restocked the iPad by May when I hit the states next (assuming they have a vastly improved display - if not not bothering).
