You may have work set as a destination in Maps?

Need a new phone. Any of you phone dudes can tell me the advantages of the Iphone pro max 15 over the pro max 14? It is mainly used for shooting small videos. I noticed that the 15 is only 70 quid dearer than the 14.

Seen a couple of youtube comparisons but they just make my head hurt. One thing though was the new one is titaniium - but is that necessarily a more robust phone because of it

Apple phones generally have an excellent reputation for video (moreso than they do for cameras). The pro max 14 was very well thought of. The video capability of the 15 pro is supposed to be better.

Titanium vs steel is really about weight. 15 Pro is lighter but probably not that noticeable.

Cheers. I’ve heard that it is more difficult to put a protective glass on the screen due to rounded edges. Can anyone confirm? I need that protection, unless the glass is now unbreakable.

I have a 14 pro with rounded edges which is fine. The ball ache is the camera lenses that stick out. I got through protective covers every two weeks even with a slightly raised case !!!

is that rounded edges on the glass or just rounded corners on the phone?

Rounded edges on the glass. It’s cut exactly the same. My silicon case then goes over the protector at the edge. Never a problem even with chunks taken out the case from drops. But as I said camera cover is a different matter, takes seconds to replace though

iOS 17 is an absolute POS, isn’t it?

Can’t call other iPhones on iOS 17 from the car but I can call those on 16 or those on Android. Same for receiving calls. Apple support trying to blame my vehicle ffs.

Their wealth seems to go up the worse they get. Crazy.

I get why you would launch a game or a paid for operating system riddled with bugs so you could make people pay for the upgrade to one that works.

But I don’t get why you would be crap if it wasn’t a monetising strategy. Particularly if you didn’t need to be crap to start with.

The fast charging on the new iPhone makes it very hot.

You wonder if they test these things before releasing

Tomo 27-09-2023 07:48 AM

Lads. My phone is saying I’ve 4G/5g but not actually working unless I’m on wifi.

Any clue?

Pro?

Known issue apparently. They’ve gimped on the thermal stuff.

You might want to consider returning if you’re still in the returns period as the suggestions I’ve seen indicate they’ll fix with software which can only really be to reduce processor performance.

My son had his iPhone nicked a couple of nights ago. Unfortunately they saw him unlock phone using passcode. Within 5 minutes they had changed Apple ID password so he couldn’t remotely block phone or access his bank accounts, email account, files (including National insurance, passport and driving licence scans), photos etc.

The banking was relatively easy to freeze although took all night - the thief transferred money between his accounts but didn’t get round to spending any. Apple will do nothing to help so unlikely he will ever get his ID, email or photos back. One 4 number passcode was all it took.
