For those of you that don't want to pay £5 for National Rail app, i can recommend Train Search. It's free of charge and has all the same options as far as i can see. Very easy to use and user friendly.

st albans 04-10-2009 10:41 PM

Fifa10 is quite good, not perfect but ok

NO1FAN 05-10-2009 09:23 PM

Bought Jaadu VNC today and so far it has been excellent and couldn't recommend it enough. Allows me to access my home computer remotely :) and was so easy to set up

Ridcully 05-10-2009 09:57 PM

The new version of yammer is great, push notifications for feeds, anyone know if theres a Twitter app with push yet?

I think x2 football is more polished, less teams but plays better.

I am hooked on Flick Cricket. I downloaded the 59p version!

Have been using Flick Cricket and love it.

But i'll download Touch Cricket tomorrow and see which one i prefer!

Blinding suggestion, this :p

jimos_uk 06-10-2009 10:00 PM

I love Touch Cricket. Cracking little app for slow five minute smoke breaks!

Baloo 07-10-2009 11:28 AM

I have both Touch Cricket and FlickCricket and prefer the latter.

Touch Cricket looks better and the controls allow different types of shots, but I find it too random on whether I've hit a great shot for four or skied a catch.

FlickCricket is pretty basic and the bowling innings is tedious, but it takes more skill to do well and the challenge of outscoring your previous best keeps me going back to it.

I dont bother with bowling. I always chose "bat to a target" option.

Connect it to Facebook, and you have real people playing!

Flick cricket is the easiest game in the world.

I was playing at lunchtime, and in my auto-generated opposition (which the app picks XI from my FB friends), you were bowling "pace", and I hit you for 4, 6, 4 and then you bowled me out.

Scrumpy 09-10-2009 06:16 PM

"Idiot Test 3" is pretty cool and its free for a limited period.

Lizzy 12-10-2009 05:36 PM

Koi Pond is essentially utterly pointless but really quite relaxing.

Lizzy 12-10-2009 05:36 PM

And I've got a game called paper toss - which is quite fun.

montstar 12-10-2009 05:48 PM

3 cool apps

red laser is really cool about a quid but you can zap any bar code and it will search amazon and a couple other shops and see if you could get it cheaper!

Sky Mobile is now in the App Store, but Sky want £6/mnth for it. :veryangry And its only sports & news, no other channels.:grrr:

I refuse to pay them any more money - they get too much out of me for normal telly. And I gather there are subscription problems atm.

Anyone trying/tried it?

3 months free if you are an o2 customer and if you have jailbroken you can trick it to play over 3g and it works perfectly :lux:

Even so, backgrounder stinks

montstar 17-11-2009 09:33 PM

I agree with dave on this certain apps like radio should be able to run in the background fingers X apple will either let the app makers do this or add some type of radio to ipod!?

wunder radio is haldf decent but you have to pay - iCarRadio lite is half decent and free too

Just beat Ipswich 5-2 to go top of the league on GD, find it a bit too easy to get injuries though, I'm struggling to put out a 18 man squad and Hills has been at AML for my last 4 games due to injuries to Ambrose, Carle, Moses, Scannell, and unfitness of Sears, Smith and Djilali. lee is on fire though.
