I suspected as much. Will be interesting to see what TomTom's GPS boosting cradle is like. Seems to be priced at £113 though, so you'd hope that includes the bloody software. Otherwise might as well just buy a separate device.

I like Navigon (although it is grossly overpriced) and have found the included maps to be very useful where there is no 3g connection available.

Like all Navigation Applications it really draws on the battery (even when charging from the car's power supply, the battery runs down), but I have found it to be responsive and accurate.

The player is far better - and you haven't been able to play flash video on your iphone before. Have a look at Google Video for example.

Sky Sports Live Football is good. Basically SSN's Soccer Saturday but on an iPod or iPhone, it gives you current tables, scores, vidiprinter, line-ups, photos. All live of course.

Out of interest, does it then allow you to use Chennel 4 Ondemand ( the Ch4 version of iPlayer), which I think is flash based?

I never think I can be bothered to jailbreak if I need to go trhough it each time there is an update to the OS. IS it really that worthwhile, and hassle free? If I'm really honest, although it'd be noce to have some of the extra stuff, is it really that much of a difference?

As for the Sky football score app - agreed, its exceptionally good if you have bets on a few matches, as you can see them all in one go. Goes well in tandem with the iPhone optimised betfair site......

Goooal - Push updates for goals as they go in, you choose the teams you want to receive them for and Palace are listed.

No, though it says you need to upgrade the flash player and gives the option to download from the adobe page for Mac OS X operating system.

Any idea if this is safe to do James?

Has anyone used Copilot Live navigation on the Iphone? At £26 it's a lot cheaper than the TomTom app and seems to have good reviews.

Take a look at http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=133
Should have a few threads comparing them all

Just downloaded a pub quiz app, very addictive and it's free for a limited time

Very enjoyable.

Two strong recommendations. The first is GEARED - 80 levels of challenging gameplay. Try the FREE VERSION first if you are not sure.

The other is Ragdoll blast - again there is a free, 'lite', version HERE.

Geared is good, though suspicious that the developer's name is Mitchell.

I've got some iTunes vouchers, and am looking to purchase some apps.

Any I absolutely must have?

Games-wise, I'm eyeing up Sonic, Monkey Ball and Streets of Rage.

Unlikely as it seems, is there a decent Football/Championship Manager type game available?

Heb 7:4 05-09-2009 03:25 PM

Gamewise Bejeweled 2 is by far and away the most used on my phone. Touch Physics, Gangstar, and definitely HoldEm (poker) are all well worth it. Oh, and Spider the Secret of something or other, but it's good anyway. Rope and Fly and mini-gore aren't bad either. And Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly are good for long train journeys if you're with someone else. Either Flight Control or Harbour Master too.

Try the FREE VERSION of Geared and the FREE VERSION of Ragdoll Blast - if you like them, pay for the full versions.

For the cooks of the bbs i suggest the All reciepes UK app, Gives you a selection of dishes to cook which have been uploaded, haves all the ingredients to use and how to cook the dish. Quite a handy little app.
