They were filth. All they could do for years was kick people off the park.

At 10:30. There's another episode straight after but we don't feature.

A World class player scored a brace that day.
And Glenn Hoddle scored for them.

Swindles was denied a hattrick by a very dubious offside decision.

On in 40 minutes

I discovered a great YouTube channel called ‘UK Retro Football Classics’

It’s literally got every televised Palace game from the 70’s, including the great cup run of 76. You have to scroll through a lot of other great stuff from that era, but for someone like myself who started going in the 70’s and remembers the excitement of seeing the TV camera’s being at Selhurst, it really is worth it and a great trip down memory lane. Some of them are not great quality, but still worth a watch

Fantastic find. I hadn't seen the Palace v Arsenal match from 1972 since October 1972 when it was initially shown. I can still remember it.

A single rep does not seems sufficient thanks for pointing me to this. I've also just watched the City game from '79. Didn't we look good??!! What memories and a great post match interview.

I’d remembered the controversy but not seen the Big Match full analysis. Two of those Arsenal goals would almost certainly have been ruled out by VAR. Lucky Arsenal, was always thus. How that could have changed that season. I’d kill to see 2-2 footage from the year before, almost passed me by that we got that draw. Was at the 0-2 in Arsenal’ s double year with my Spurs supporting grandad.

I thought some of you big match fellas would like it, so many great memories on there.

Brian Moore explained ITV ‘were required’ to show a Third and Fourth Division game during the season. Thought that was interesting. He also declared he was a director at Gillingham.

To be fair, they did show us a few times when we were 3rd division

Penstone Eagle 23-10-2023 10:44 AM

What a commentator Brian Moore was, today's commentators are memorable for all the wrong reasons.
