The insidious abandonment of the preposition "to" so that now we have "I'm going work" or "I'm going London later". My daughter and her friends do this and I've seen some of you bastards post in this style on here. Stop. Now.

The effected/affected one always gets me. When typing in Word, it always wants to use affected, which I often override with effected.

I've Googled it many times, and still not really sure about the differences.

The middle class sense of entitlement

Middle class people who call everything “amazing”

The middle class accepted wisdom that everything that’s foreign is superior to everything that isn’t

Yeah, know what you mean. You can affect something, whereas something can have an effect. You can go past something or something can go past? Passed I only associate with football. Their team is over there I think. Something like that anyway.

PALACEWU 18-01-2018 11:26 PM

People moaning and moaning about the fact that we haven't signed anyone.

Hedgehog 19-01-2018 01:16 AM

I've been off work for a couple of weeks and am totally amazed at the number of unsolicited calls that come in everyday.

Thank God for caller ID and voice mail.

There was a thing on the radio yesterday where they were saying the whole "Do not call" list (not sure if you have that in The UK) is no longer working or being enforced.

As I'm typing this... there is another one!

Far East Eagle 19-01-2018 01:19 AM
