read a report today that if you turn 3g off battery performance is comparable to the 2g phone, might help some here in poor 3g areas

Thats a point... What the hell is the VPN function on the iPhone for?! (I know what a VPN is...but I can't think of what the iPhone would use it for....other than possibly e-mail

Ha, just found out that the headphones that come with the iphone have a microphone built in, and you can control pause music, answer calls etc with it!
how do you set this up?

Dave 21-07-2008 03:01 PM

It just works dude

GodstoneEagle 21-07-2008 03:42 PM

Dave 21-07-2008 03:53 PM

You have to say

'Iphone pause'

'Iphone play'

etc into the microphone, very clearly

The idea of you doing that is really rather sweet.

klimskady 21-07-2008 04:26 PM

I think I want one.

Cheap as possible mind but think the 1st gen will be decent enough for me.

Trouble is Ebay looks full of overly inflated 3G ones so I am at a loss.

squeeze once to pause, twice for next track

Shoreditch CPFC 22-07-2008 10:31 AM

Sounds like I might be better off getting a 2G one with version 2.0 applications installed and unlocked then.

Pretty good ta mate. Up near my office (Baker Street) the 3G coverage is great and very fast. At home (Forest Hill) it's a tiny bit more flakey depending on where in my house I am, but it switches between 3G and Edge with no problems. I've been using it on the train down from London Bridge a fair amount with a decent 3G reception down to FH and the reception is good around most of the FH area from what I've seen so far. I tried it down in Hove as well and the coverage was good there too. Maybe I've just been lucky though. Am loving being able to DL apps over the air.
