Yep, same here. Well, I ordered one anyway.

Also, if i take my lap top is it worth locally buying a dongle for it? I am told there is 'some' 3g coverage where I'm staying.

Data roaming is harsh.

If the dongle is unlocked buying a 3G sim is a good idea, assumung that your modem software will allow you to add new profiles for other isps etc

Monstar, Dave Thanks. Looks as though I'll be honing my texting skills.

Well, it's only been a few days, and I have to say I am stunned. The phone is amazing. First three times I ran the battery to flat, then recharged to full, and battery life has certainly been better than it was the first time. Of course, this could be perception and clearly it will have mattered what I was doing with the phone, but I'm not nearly as miffed as I was over battery life.

Just love it :)

Does anyone have a good recommendation for where to get a gym armband and a couple of docks (for home and work)?

Apple store is so pricey and I'm sure there are some just as good suppliers out there

HMV have one on salfe for £10. or they did a couple of weeks ago anyway.

eBay for the dock. Couple of quid, not perfect but do the job

That first week or so really blows you away.

Has anyone bothered with insurance? CUSC Foneguard do some for £5 a month but a bit of digging on the internet shows they don't cover loss, and losing it when pissed is the main thing I'd want to insure against.

Never bothered to insure a phone before, but £550 or whatever it costs to get a new one would really hurt :( Cheapest full cover I can find for the 3GS is £7.99. Seems pricey on top of a contract

I have these

http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TR...mco=NDc5MDQ0Mg

Plus points: multifunctional, decent sound
Negatives: no volume ctrl and some interference when really windy, i.e youn can hear the wind

today?

It's annoying that 02 3G is so shit that, like last.fm it will need wireless

Kevin T 27-07-2009 09:32 AM

Do you think O2 just have a bad network, or is it simply a case that there are so many iphones out there, all on 02, all trying to grab bandwidth. Would it really be any better if all iphones were on Vodafone?

I get mine included within my Barclays Premier Banking account. Only costs me around a tenner a month IIRC

In a word, yes.

Kevin T 27-07-2009 09:39 AM

I take it you're answering the last question?

Heb 7:4 27-07-2009 09:39 AM

Are spotify/last.fm similar? I use neither currently.

Also, are there any headphones that don't automatically tangle up into bastard knots when you put them in your pocket? I'd like some of those please

going to be following this one. latest news I;ve read is here.

http://uk.techcrunch.com/2009/07/27/...le-approve-it/

premium users only? wonder if there will be any free functionality to tease you into paying? Will apple approve, wonder if this is a done deal or a publicity stunt to test apples resolve? Interesting.
