Having had the 3GS for a few hours, I'm glad I got it as a work phone, and didn't pay to upgrade mine..

Nice extra few features, nice to have a bit of extra nippiness, however nothing amazing stands out.
Voice control could prove to be useful

I'm back too toby I'm going to **** you up

GodstoneEagle 25-08-2009 11:08 PM

Timbo, when you upgrade your iPhone software it backs up all your shit so it keeps your contacts. Should be fine and dandy.

Is there any alternative to the iPhone. I think it's good but I dont like the feeling of being held to ransom by 02. Internet wise I might use facebook and youtube, do the other phones have slower internet?

David Amsalem 26-08-2009 12:46 AM

My iPhone is driving me crazy, I just don't stop fiddling with it.

David Amsalem 26-08-2009 01:31 AM

I'm ashamed to be posting this, but where on the iPhone is the video option?

On my touch, it is just down on the bottom but my iPhone has different option - Phone, Mail, Safari and iPod obviously.

I've spent 15 minutes browsing my iPhone and I'm pulling my hair out now. All Google tells me is about .mp4 but I know all about that.

What have I missed...?

By turning off everything such as 3g, wireless and push email, will this make my iphone battery behave like a normal phone battery and give me a good couple of days if I only use it for the odd call and nothing else?

Yep, mine will last two days if I have wifi and 3G off

Kevin T 26-08-2009 06:42 AM

Cool, so armed with my Mophie, I should last the weekend :)

Anyway, this was the best one I found. It covers loss, which is the key. There are cheaper ones (not by much though) that just do theft and damage if you prefer, but this seemed the best one I could find for the money

If you haven't already purchased this insurance then don't. I tried to get the £5.88 deal today and was charged £71.91.

When I spoke to them they told me that they were going for annual premiums at £7.99 per month (nope doesn't add up to me either) as fraud was rife in the iphone insurance market. Oh, and the new policy doesn't cover for loss.

I have asked for a full refund. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.

Wow, I see they've made the 3G S separate, the bastards. No, I'm covered with them already. Just checked my policy, I've 3G S cover at £5.88, including loss. Cancellation is 1 month's notice, no minimum term. I must have just got it before they changed.

Probably already been answered, but does jailbreaking it void the warranty?

Yes - probably best not to make any calls though.

Thank you for the reply, but it isn't a video I filmed. I changed an .mpeg to .mp4 and it worked fine on the touch.

What do I select to watch it on my iPhone? I have already synced it.

Heb 7:4 26-08-2009 03:04 PM

Your ipod, then go to video

Stavros 69 26-08-2009 03:13 PM

Having 32gb is so much better.
I'm better than Dave.
FACT :hi:

Hmmm.. I'd be interested to know if anyone with a Jailbroken phone has had problems with warranty when having them replaced.

I'm on o2 already but they have wound me right up by not letting me upgrade a couple months early as my phone is broken, they just didnt seem keen to keep my custom at all. Looks like Orange have alot more phones to choose from
