Found a few but there doesn't appear to be any balanced articles.

Thoughts and opinions welcome here as well of course :p

I didnt know whether or not to do it, but I did anyway and its so good. If anything happens you can just restore the phone and it goes back to what it was before.

Cheers all, especially the person that posted the article. I've got to do it now really haven't I after reading that.

Slightly concerned about the warranty but hey...

Question - when you connect your IPhone to ITunes, do you ever get that syncing feeling?

dannyboy1807 10-09-2009 02:08 PM

that is a shocker,

Dave 13-09-2009 09:55 AM

Itunes 9 - how do you only view unread podcasts, oh right, you can't.

Apple tossers

One point to know is that when you restore your 3G back to normal firmware, it will retain the percentage battery indicator, which is glaring evidence that you have previously jailbroken. Apple could then refuse to fix/replace your iphone within warranty.

For the record, they replaced mine despite this, but only after quizzing me and me playing dumb and flatly denying.

anna matronic 13-09-2009 03:05 PM

I've ordered mine. Comes Tuesday :lux:

Kevin T 13-09-2009 08:35 PM

From 02? Lizzy has been trying for weeks and always out of stock :(

steve_eagle_04 14-09-2009 11:03 AM

Had in stock in Sutton end of last week - both black and white - give them a ring.

LLCOOLSTEVE 15-09-2009 05:38 PM

Me too. Was prompted to download version 9.0 last night, but I think it crashed half-way through. The bar didn't move for more than an hour. Tried to cancel the installation, but nothing happened. Eventually had to go through the Task Manager to end the application.

How long has it taken others to download the new version?

Don't use the iTunes installer - download directly from HERE.

They forgot to mention:

laggy scrolling through podcast index
podcasts no longer sorted by date
scattered album artwork (artwork no longer matches albums)
Youtube no longer works (The server is not correctly configured)

Looking forward to the next update...

Any news on whether those ****tards at o2 are losing their exclusivity yet? I'm up for renewal but want to dump those tossers asap.

Dave 20-09-2009 07:15 PM

Just a heads up, the football league show is now on Iplayer so if you have the smarts you can now legally have Palace goals on your jesus phone

LLCOOLSTEVE 22-09-2009 04:41 PM

Guys, im sure this will have been asked before, but im going to Greece next week and wish to take my phone, what are the options for ensuring i have no surprise large bills when i come back....

Id like to check my email say twice during the week, and maybe check facebook a couple of times.... so if i just turn off data roaming will that be enough??

kolinkins 22-09-2009 04:43 PM

My friend went to Greece last month for a week with her Iphone, and returned to a £360 bill. Be careful!

BTW - got a call from Tmobile saying I will be eligible for an Iphone in January. A friend on Orange got a similar call. Looks like the roll out isnt far off.
