I'm on Snow Leopard, works on both the Mini and the Macbook no problem.

This happened with mine originally so I went to the bluetooth settings and although paired they were not showing as connected. Once I connected them all was good in the world (ie. this set the output device in Sound Settings to be the headphones).

I got it to work by selecting headphones under the BT menu in the taskbar.

Get breaking up on the mac too

You must have a bad pair, mine work up to about 4 metres no problem, certainly anywhere in lounge is fine when the macbook is on the sofa.

I doubt they are broken, I suspect that wireless is interfering with them, I notice the sound quality isn't great with a few wireless devices running

Works for me with iPlayer .h264 natively providing they are locally cached (ie favourites). Unfortunately only mp3s stream at the minute which isn't ideal.
