You have set times for being obnoxious? What about being a c v n t ?

Maz 27-03-2021 12:57 PM

He does that between 9 and 10pm.

Any chance of sorting things so that the BBS is actually accessible on match days?

We're hoping that the work we're doing this weekend will help significantly with that but there may be some fine-tuning required and it may take a little time to optimise performance at the busiest times. Also, there will be further upgrades to come in the not too distant future.

Thanks Eddie :p

Hoping PeterH will be using this this time to get a few packed lunches sorted for the week. Otherwise it could be quite a struggle to get through.

Good news thanks - out of interest what has caused this as I never remember it being like that in years gone by.

Fans who would have been at Selhurst/in pubs now sitting at home hitting refresh on the BBS match day thread!

A Wooden Fish On Wheels 27-03-2021 09:19 PM

22.30 then. Is this you migrating us, prior to BBS upgrading? Or OS upgrading prior to BBS upgrading?

EddieEdwards 27-03-2021 09:54 PM

We're migrating the BBS to a new host platform tonight. Everything will look the same after this move but it should give us the ability to improve matchday performance. It's also a necessary move because the current server is no longer fit for purpose.

The upgrade to vBulletin 5 will follow as soon as possible.

Cyneagle 27-03-2021 10:11 PM

Skills to be admired.

Well done everyone involved in the migration. :p

EddieEdwards 28-03-2021 01:30 PM

Unfortunately we encountered a number of unexpected issues after completing the move to the new platform last night. We tried to work through these but it became clear that we weren't going to be able to get everything sorted quickly so we have reverted to the old host. The few posts made after the move have been lost.

We're continuing the analysis of the problems and we'll re-plan the work for another time. Thanks for your understanding.

Good stuff. Is there any chance of repeating the subscription information somewhere?

Is this the reason my log in details (username and password) weren't recognised? Impressed with how quickly you sorted this out. Thanks and salute to all.

Maz 28-03-2021 01:47 PM

Very many thanks to those involved in this. Your efforts very much appreciated.

Louis 28-03-2021 01:54 PM

Hooray, I can log in successfully ... :lux:

Thanks to all :p
