I particularly liked the ice cream melting on the slate tile, soon to drip off the sides and become an expensive mess on the table.

Normally I'm way too English to make a fuss in a restaurant but in that situation I'd be tempted to call the chef/manager to my table, point at the mess and pause as we all watch silently as it forms creamy riverlets and puddles.
