I do find the iPhone works much better if it's regularly synced with iTunes.

I remember when I used to have a phone that needed syncing.

Apple store did mine, it was the result of being dropped and the display broke as well as the glass, they charged £79 and did it while I wait at the Covent Garden store.

iOS 4.2 launched today, not sure that it adds as much to the phone as it does to the iPad (which was still running iOS3).

Was looking forward to AirPrint but, at least with this release of the OS, it only works with the 7 models of HP's eprinter. And that's it.

Yeah, technology nowadays huh. It's amazing how these little handheld devices don't need syncing manually. Can be adapted and personalised as much as you like. Aren't locked into a service which restricts what they can and can't do with your device. You can even watch videos on, say, the BBC website on them! Mental!

Havent got round to installing 4.2 yet.
Any feedback from those that have?

I installed 4.2 on my 3GS. Didnt have the extra 17 text tones talked about (iPhone 4 only?) but can now set individual tones to people. Don't notice anything drastically different to be honest

Might update mine at the weekend when i have the time to do it as ive heard it takes a while to download and install

I didn't have to do all that.

I connected my phone to my laptop loaded with the Samsung Kies software, I downloaded the entire new Android operating system to my phone. And nothing went wrong. As I said here:
