BTW, o2 have a friends and family thing where if you know someone who works for them, you can get a 30% discount.

I love my friend who works for them.

I suggest Paf starts offering sweeties to the kids who work in the shops.

Is there a new version of the Iphone coming out soon?

I have a Google Android phone, love it, but the only thing I don't like about it is the screen quality when watching films on it

So I am mulling over making the switch when my contract is up (got a while yet, though - next year) and getting the jesus phone

So is there a new Iphone coming out soon and if so, how different is it going to be from the latest one?

Whatever, I can absolutely guarantee you that whenever you buy an Iphone, there will be a new version that actually works better released within 6-9 months.

This is true, the 12 month contracts and a new phone after 9 are now over. I just had to buy myself out of a three contract. Phone shopping on Saturday was being heavily pressured to take a 24 month contract, at one point he said I'll give £240 cash for your old N95 right now if you take a £40 pcm contract on the Magic. Told him to get bent.

The other annoyance is having to get screen protector films, as 18 months bouncing around in your pocket would make it unuseable otherwise, I usually get a bulk pack from GErmany and replace them every month.

I have a year left on my contract - T-Mobile reckon it'll cost me 500 quid to buy out of it

I love my Android, and it's pretty similar to the Iphone, but I watch a lot of TV shows and films on the train for work

Ipod screen too small, Android screen poor quality

I'd be delighted if a company could find a way to buy out my contract so I can get an Iphone - I'd sign up for 24 months because I'm not going to want to change

I'm in no rush and am sure I've read a new Iphone is coming out in six months or so, so will sit patiently like the cobra in the knitting basket

If you want to watch films/tv/music on your way to work, you would be better investing in a device that is designed for this, ie, not an android or an iphone. You can get last gen versions of the Zen Vision W or the ARchos 605, both have big screens, native divx playback and huge storage. You can prob score one for a hundred quid.

nookiebear 11-05-2009 02:30 PM

Thought about those, but it's another device in my bag I'm in danger of losing when I go down the pub :)

Might see if they're going cheap though

If you are currently doing any kind of format converting, then you should deffo get a proper device and stop this madness at once.

Can't agree with that.

Iphone is perfect for watching TV in the morning.

Of that I have no doubt, my issue is re-encoding. So native mp4 (?) fill ya boots.

Dave 11-05-2009 04:00 PM

Yeah - Iplayer direct to Iphone - looks sumptuous

OK I want a Jesus phone and I want one now.

I am in an 18 month contract with 02 that doesn't run out till September, any sneaky ways I can persuade them to upgrade me earlier - as in now?

Sounds pretty dangerous.
