I'd get a jesus phone if I was you, if Kev has one makes it easier innit, share er chargers. Though fight for an 18 month, not 24 contract. Also you say you are already on 02, makes it easier.

Having recently extended my agreements, my experience was that they would not let me. Even a more expensive tariff than the ones I have would not sway them. (By the way it was for the wife not myself)

Lizzy, be careful they dont try and stick the contract on to the end of your existing contract, or you'll be stuck with the same device for 2.5 years, I fell into that trap and had to buy out.

I tried a couple of times because with O2 you can get a different answer depending on who you speak to and which way the wind is blowing!

If you want an iphone then they know they have you over a barrel for 5 years or however long their exclusivity has to run now.

What handset have you got? I was offered £240 cash for my old handset in phones4u to sign with them. You could use that as buy out money.

Oh, just an addition, they did give me a compromise. If I bought a pay as you go iphone, they would upgrade me to the shitty iphone tariff. That was nice of them!

The thing is paf, lizzy is in a contract she can not get out of unless she pays. She also can not get an iphone with anyone other than O2. So basically they can make her stay in the tariff she is in, knowing that she will not go anywhere in september if she still wants an iphone.

Total fail - even just spoke to cancellations section.

I delcined the phones4u offer, but old handsets are actually worth more than you think, so if she has 100 squids or so in her handset, paying off O2 becomes a realistic option. I wasn;t suggesting she go to phones4u, was just an example of what kind of offers stores are prepared to make.

If you want one that badly sell your handset. Buy a PAYG iphone. get an unlimited internet bolt on.

I have a feeling an iphone is probably lost on me cos I don't have any music to store on it, would never remember to take my headphones with me and I wouldn't be able to get my work emails on it anyway.

Was interesting on Saturday as I ventured into a phone shop for the first time in many years. Carphone Warehouse just ignored me, and when I asked about the Magic they just looked blank, so left. Went into 02 and a spotty teenager ignored me. Phones4u nearly raped me on the way in, had a seat and a cuppa in hand within 3 mins, way OTT, Vodafone store was slick, fast and not in the least bit pushy but served me straight away and were very helpful.

2 of those stores have the iphone and therefore seemingly dont give a rats arse about the customer, 2 don't and are super keen for your business.
