Surely all the software updates get downloaded through iTunes for free?

Tempting though it is my blackberry will suffice as a phone until then - feck knows where my actual phone is.

Dave 09-03-2008 04:43 PM

I have a blackberry too and it's Ok for making calls and email as well as having GPS but an Iphone it ain't.

Adlerhorst 09-03-2008 04:47 PM

can anyone spread some light? as soon as i suss that out,the phone becomes so much more appealing and usefull!

Can anyone help with this? Its really annoyin me now,as the wep key is all i can think of that i'm supposed to enter. Or is there any simple way of just unlocking my livebox instead?

what about iPod touchs? I am getting an 8gb one from the states for £125, i sold my 30Gb video one on ebay for £70 because basically i will never use that space for music i actually want. i have a huge external harddrive and will basically chop and change a certain amount of songs, whilst keeping some must haves on there. im not really bothered about video, having had a video ipod for two years and only ever really watched a few episodes of lost on it.

the ipod touch just looks awesome, cant wait to get my hands on it. how does the wireless net work anyways? i mean, does it work well for browsing/sending emails?

My brother has the touch and it is a great device. Until your in a non-wireless area. I used it for a day and at the end of the day came to the conclusion if i had one i'd get the phone version as it means you can use all the features on it when you want as most require internet access.

For using the touch as a MP3 and video player it is quality. If you want to have it to check your email, browse a few webpages on the move then i would seriously consider getting the phone version instead imho.

Is a very slick device i would consider getting if the contract plans where more competative with day to day pay monthly price plans :)

OK, having said I would wait for the next generation of these to come out I am now sorely tempted to get one as my shite Nokia N95 has completely packed up for the second time in 11 months.

18 month contract. I'm not going to regret it am I?

Dave 10-03-2008 11:57 AM

Nope

Micky Droy 10-03-2008 12:48 PM

It will change ur life.

Oddjob 10-03-2008 12:51 PM

Only if your life wasnt that great to begin with.

Justy C 12-03-2008 08:13 AM

Have had an iPhone for a day now - it is awesome.

Only slight niggle is the signal strength at home, it isn't as strong as my previous O2 phone and only picks up in the lounge. Hey ho, its definitely worth it though, just need to discover everything on it now!

Dave 12-03-2008 09:02 AM

Just call 02, I think they are swapping out some units with lower strength signal

Teemo 12-03-2008 09:35 AM

i doubt it. i had an ipod video and you needed to convert it from avi to mp4 before it would run on that, i would have thought its the same in the iphone.

arussell 13-03-2008 12:19 AM

Correct.

Dave 13-03-2008 08:21 AM

iplayer for iPhone released

paf 13-03-2008 09:29 AM

I wish I'd got one, the N95 8GB is a load of shit and now I'm stuck with it. Or am I? Can you buy yorself out of the contract? I also have an N80 in good nick, so the pair would realise a tidy sum on Ebay I guess.

anyone know?
