If one jailbreaks their phone, how does one then access all these other apps?

Anonymous 14-02-2009 11:21 PM

Well, i've only spent this evening researching but it would seem that a lot of stuff can be installed with cydia and installer 4. You can search for cydia sources on google and enter the details of the repositories in cydia.

Anonymous 14-02-2009 11:24 PM

cydia is installed when you jailbreak your phone. which firmware do you got?

I'm seriously contemplating getting one of these things. Do I have to connect it up to a PC for updates?

Dave 15-02-2009 11:11 AM

or a mac

James 15-02-2009 11:26 AM

... but not Ubuntu.

So does the thing not update itself?

And does anyone know of a price drop in the near future? I'm looking at getting the 16gb on a £35 a month contract. But paying £160 is too pricey for me at the moment.

I'm sure you guys have all heard this before but thanks for any help.

SpikeyMatt 15-02-2009 12:12 PM

I want one but my contract on my current phone with O2 isn't up until September :(

Mine was £57.64 on an 18 month contract, which you can reduce after nine months through the Carphone Warehouse.

Liking it very much so far, it's very nice.

Anonymous 15-02-2009 12:41 PM

forgot, £45 a month now
