Circa 100 AUD is the price for 4 meals x 2 people .... So thats about 58 GBP. Big serves as well, there is sometimes enough for 3 meals... Which you can use on the days you dont get a delivery. No point doing it more than 4 meals as you can get caught out with invites out for meals etc. In fact I think we'll go back on 3 meals next time. Here's the Aus Link if your interested. Is it the same mob? https://www.hellofresh.com.au/plans?...e4b979e04c7f2e |

That's pretty much my point. 58 quid is a shitload of money to spend on 4 meals x 2 - especially as you're eating leftovers for 3 of them. There are a lot of people who have to make £58 last a lot longer than 4 meals but still serve up fresh, tasty, nutritious meals. Hello Fresh just annoys me - hence my post in the thread. |

Hmm didn't realise that. I think and I'm not overstating the case, that the average Aussie in the big cities at least and even more so in Perth, possibly lives closer to what the UK calls a 'Middle class' lifestyle. Wouldn't mind confirmation of that from my local Aussie peers that travel back to the UK more frequently than I. I know I live a lot different to my 1970's young adulthood in Peckham, with the paraffin heaters in the bathroom and Ice on the inside of the windows... I figured that everyone has moved along since those times though. |
I would say from about 2007 onwards the standard of living in comparison to other countries has dropped. Obviously since 2016 the pace of the decline has accelerated exponentially. I think even Slovakia has a better standard of living than the UK now.

Not surprised at that 100 AUD meals cost as you just need to go into Coles or Woolworths to see what it costs to make up a meal as it often twice the price of UK equivalents.

Indeed . Australia has gotten really exspensive over the last few years. To me the quality of the food has gone down. Some stuff like , believe it or not lamb needs a small loan to buy.

On the same sort of thing wonky veg company, came across them recently thinking it would be cheap veg that the supermarkets didn't want. It was super expensive.
Have family in Perth, the cost and standard of living in Perth much better than the uk |

Standard pub meals are super expensive now. Like 42 bucks (25 GBP) for an average rump steak, salad and chips... before covid it was closer to 30 bucks. Even a Schnitty is over 30 bucks now. Beers are averaging 14 dollars a pint in Melbourne (8.00) for the general brands... 2 bucks extra for decent craft beers. |

As for "slightly threatening pms", I'm sure you can garner that sort of attention elsewhere. |

We went on a day trip to Slovakia once. There was a blizzard and we didn't see a thing. Had a wonderful goulash in a tiny bar though.
Anyway, as you were. |

I am annoyed that it's not called Pressburg anymore (not really).

He didn't mention drugs, self-discovery, or how "indigenous" people are so much better than the west, so not a fair comparison.

Apparently, dark chocolate Bounty has been discontinued. That’s annoying
