any more details on these? any pictures?

Dorking .Eagle 27-08-2014 09:43 PM

It's simply perforated cards on the inside of the back cover.

album available at the next home game

Begs the question, is the programme complete without the cards if they are put in an album?

Dorking .Eagle 27-08-2014 10:57 PM

I thought the same thing. The very recent programme at Arsenal was difficult to read without accidentally perforating the cut out player figure for example.

Modern programmes (even sell outs) are rarely worth the cover price after the event except to a handful of completists, so just do whatever you will get the most enjoyment from.

I suspect that only a minority of regular programme purchasers will even bother to complete the collection in the binder, so a complete one of those will be rare in itself. In one of Simon Jordan's first couple of seasons everyone who bought an 'Eagle Gold' (programme voucher book) qualified for a free programme 'binder', yet hundreds didn't even bother to collect theirs and the club shop ended up selling them off for a quid each.

Dorking .Eagle 09-09-2014 08:54 PM

The new Match Attax cards will be out very soon. Next Tuesday's Match of the Day magazine includes a free packet (they won't be in the shops to buy though for a couple more weeks)

Album nothing to write home about and certainly not worth the price

Dorking .Eagle 16-09-2014 11:01 AM

The binder is pretty much what I expected it to be, and at least it has a bit of printing on the front.

Downside is there are only enough sleeves (10) to fit all the cards in if you put them back to back. I'll probably buy a 2nd binder so that they can all be inserted facing forwards.

The cards themselves (ignoring the Nigel Martin error - and I am sure they will be proof read from now on) do lack a great deal of design. If you look at modern collectors cards (eg Topps) they take care to select the best action image of each player, and the cards themselves have a smart design. These do look a little like a first attempt. I guess the programme itself is a big piece of work, and adding these cards to it involves probably a whole season of forward planning.

When it is finished and the binder is complete though, it'll look good.

On the subject of Topps, todays Match of the Day Magazine comes with the first preview cards from this seasons Match Attax. No Palace cards have yet been spotted in opened preview packs, but they do come with the PL Trophy card, so if you are completing the set and want that card, this is the mag to get.

PeterK 16-09-2014 11:41 AM

dont really want the album for the cards...just want the cards themselves. But then I dont ever buy a programme lol. Any thoughts?

Dorking .Eagle 16-09-2014 11:48 AM

Just ask on this thread

http://www.cpfc.org/forums/showthrea...ghlight=WANTED

I'm sure there will be someone who buys the programme but doesn't especially want the cards who might send them to you if you pay their postage?

Reminds me, there's a couple of bits I'm after that I should ask if anyone has got on there.

Match attax cards for 14/15 are up on Ebay for sale already - you can pickup all the Palace ones for less than a fiver :)

It's a shame the cards in the Palace programme have no proper info on the backs, a biography would have been an excellent idea I would happily have done this for them for each picture if they'd give it a little thought. Nice idea to do it though.

PeterK 30-09-2014 11:31 AM

Hoping David will update us with any variations? :)....guaranteed there will be plenty !!!

Id still like to get hold of the "programme" ones....dont want the album though

Typical Palace 30-09-2014 11:34 AM

Dwight Gayle 74 power, while Yala is 61?

Well that's well wrong, as Bruno knows only too well

Dorking .Eagle 30-09-2014 12:17 PM

The only variations so far really are that on Sunday and yesterday, the free sheet of Match Attax cards that you can claim from Tesco's when you buy The Sun have perforations (as you have to pop them out of the sheet yourself).

The cards concerned are Delaney and Chamakh, but in all other respects these cards are identical. None of the other cards in this free promotion are Palace.

The 'hard one' to get this year is a "Pro11" card of Bolasie. To get that one, you have to enter codes from match attax packets in oder to buy a squad of players, then play the online match attax fantasy football game and be in the top 500 players for that week.

Or just buy it for some £££ price on ebay.

(The online game hasn't started yet BTW - believe its November)

In due course, there will be Russian, Vietnamese and Asian versions of the cards, plus in January, the Extra series

25 to be exact were on display

Had a look at the cards issued with the Sunderland programme , it really is piss poor . The one of Ian Walsh is a scan from a magazine , you can see the staple holes and the fold of the page as well.
CPFC 2010 is missing a photo of Jeremy Hoskins . Do we have a 9 year old doing these ?
Typical palace , a great idea done on the cheap

Tony Taylor card today is a badly cropped picture out of Shoot! magazine, and not sure why the Pardew picture is in black and white, it is realty not hard to find that photo in colour.

Great idea, but lacking attention to detail, which is a shame a the rest of the programme is very good

Dorking .Eagle 04-12-2014 07:33 AM

Topps are using their exclusive Premier League license well this season.

Match Attax cards already out. Premier League sticker album imminent.

In the US and some parts of Asia, the Premier Gold cards will be out again before Xmas.

In the UK, a similar series, but without the 'relic' cards and all the limited variants will be out, called Premier Club. Should be available January. Auto cards of 3 Palace players - Campbell, Bolasie, Puncheon.

Well thanks Dorking Eagle, you've really done my head & bank balance in now :D My collection of Crystal palace cards/stickers go back to the 1930's , at the time when i stopped collecting them back in 2007, other than you and Neil the Eagle, my collection could match anyone's, many hundreds of different ,I remember getting a list of cards from Neil's collection a few years back, and after i crossed of which ones i had, there were very few missing from his list that i needed,
But every so often i pop on here just to see whats going on in the world of palace, I've been through this thread a couple times in the pass week or so, and my taste buds have re-opened, and have now got my act back together and started to hunt down these cards/stickers since 2007, i know is going to be a long and costly road, but once started, i will see it through, there are MANY collections that i've missed, but the challenge starts now , so far in the pass couple nights, i managed to get quite a few from the 13/14 Topps premier gold (usa), including some Paralled green cards..

Dorking .Eagle 08-12-2014 06:38 AM

Good stuff John. All the printing variants of the Premier Gold cards is because in the USA, that is standard stuff for baseball cards. I've cleaned up the checklist for last years that you quoted, as effectively I used it as my personal online checklist (as nobody else seemed to be reading this thread at the time!) This seasons set will be out in just over a week, but I think I will just stick to the 'basic' version of each card this time, as I gave it an almighty go last year, and this season, there are other great sets to get.

The Soccerstarz figures which just came out do not come with a player card for the first time, so if you only collect cards and not all Palace memorabilia/collectibles, that's one less to worry about.

In February, there will as usual be the Match Attax Extra set, which is basically just the January signings.

Oh and the cards that come in the programmes had another error last week, there are now 2 x No 50.

JOHN1509 08-12-2014 03:19 PM

Regarding the cards that come with the programmes, I'll bide my time and see what turns up on ebay in the future as i stopped buying the match programmes a few seasons back, it got so expensive,

As regarding the 13/14 Tops premier gold, I've brought a few now, also have brought two different colour JR-YB Bolasie jersey relics.. red & blue

The orange cards are difficult to come by on ebay, The SP-YB Bolasie ( auto), got the reg, the Gold version are going for approx £40 on ebay, way above my limit

JOHN1509 08-12-2014 03:24 PM

Also just missed out on the Match attax 14/15 Bolasie pro11, it went for £19

Dorking .Eagle 08-12-2014 03:41 PM

I've had someone win that Pro11 on the Football Card Forum for me - cannot be doing with playing the online fantasy football game.

This card:-

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTg5WDg2MA...UdqOT/$_57.JPG

(Bolasie Platinum relic 1/1) went for $89US in the last week on ebay.com.

At the start of this year it would have gone for £150UK

A lot of heat has gone out of the Premier Gold (2013) collection, as most collectors have got what they were after now in terms of limited parallels. It would be quite a slog now to try and build a thorough set of cards for it from scratch as a large percentage of the cards are now in their final destination (the club specific collectors) and are unlikely to be sold or traded. Orange parallels ( /11) for example - I'd be suprised is there are more than 2 or 3 left to find undiscovered or with dealers yet their final home. I did get green, orange and a printing plate for all the base cards in the end, but the Joel Ward orange parallel ( /11) for example took me best part of 6 months to find even one, and that was checking ebay.com and ebay.co.uk every day from its release. Funnily enough within days of winning it, my Chinese contact then offered another one to me!

The 2014 Premier Club collection though looks like a very nice 'premium' series. They have a nice design and look good, still have memorabilia cards, but none of the aggro of the limited parallels, which ultimately is frustrating even to collectors with the deepest pockets. Also with it being a UK released collection, whilst it won't flood the market (will be a little out of the price range for most kids), at least UK collectors won't be paying overseas postage and customs charges, like with Premier Gold last year.

Dorking .Eagle 08-12-2014 04:20 PM

Premier GOLD 2014 (ie US/Asia):-

Auto + Memorabilia cards for Palace will be Jedinak. Once again Villa feature heavily - there are 5 (5!!!) different Villa Autos. Collection should be called 'Villa Gold' really!

•Green Parallel – limited. .( /99??? or more?)
•Purple Parallel – sequentially #’d. NEW!
•Black Parallel – sequentially #’d. NEW!
•Orange Parallel – sequentially #’d to 1 1.
•Premier Gold Parallel – #’d 1/1.
•Printing Plates – #’d 1/1.

Crowning Achievement Die-Cut Autographs

A die-cut design will showcase the league’ s biggest names, both past and present. Sequentially #’d.
•Orange Parallel – sequentially #’d to 11.
•Premier Gold Parallel - #’d 1/1.

(you can bet there won't be any Palace ones of this!)

Premier Jumbo Auto Relics
•Orange Parallel – sequentially #’d to 11.
•Black Parallel – sequentially #’d.
•Premier Gold Parallel – #’d 1/1.
•Printing Plates – #’d 1/1
.

There wasn't a Palace jumbo last season. Not holding my breath!

Football Fibers Relics

Up to 40 subjects will be featured in this subset containing a jersey swatch per card
. (ie for us, Jedinak)

Green Parallel – limited.
•Purple Jumbo Parallel – sequentially #’d. NEW!
•Black Jumbo Parallel – sequentially #’d. NEW!
•Orange Jumbo Parallel – sequentially #’d to 11.
•Premier Gold Jumbo Parallel – featuring multi-colored jumbo piece. #’d 1/1.

•Printing Plates Jumbo – featuring multi-colored jumbo piece. #’d 1/1.

•Black Parallel – sequentially #’d. NEW!
•Orange Parallel – sequentially #’d to 11.
•Premier Gold Parallel – #’d 1/1. Featuring multi-colored jersey piece.
•Printing Plates – #d 1/1.

I guess they could pair up Jedi with Brad Jones of Liverpool (Aus)??

Base and insert cards

150 of the most renowned names from the Barclays Premier League will be featured in the Premier Gold 2014 base set.
(so not an even number of players per team - maybe 5 of Palace but 10 of Man Utd?)

Captain s Insert (20 subjects)

Highlighting the leadership, drive and persistence of the BPL ’s most renowned captains.
That'll be Jedinak again.

New transfers Insert

Featuring the high profile transactions of the of f-season.
(so probably not Palace then unless McArthur sneaks in!!)

Future Stars Insert

20 of the league’s up-and-comers will be featured in this subset that puts a modern spin on the Topps Future Stars concept.
(Gayle?)

Parallels for the base and insert cards will fall as follows:
•Green Parallel – limited.
•Purple Parallel – sequentially #’d. NEW!
•Black Parallel – sequentially #’d. NEW!
•Orange Parallel – sequentially #’d to 1 1.
•Premier Gold Parallel – #’d 1/1.
•Printing Plates – #d 1/1.

WOW, that's some great card, The best from the 2013 Topps premier (usa) i can hope for is to collect the base and most of the green parallel cards, but like you said, with only 99 cards of each only printed, there will be a couple difficult ones to find, as for the orange cards, not a chance really, have seen some on ebay from other teams, but not palace,
if you find a good sauce for this season's Topps premier gold from the usa, keep me in the loop if possible:p
I'm still to get the Topps premier league stickers from 2014 ( 13/14), i've seen the price of each sticker on ebay , approx 99p each + postage, seems a bit steep ?

Dorking .Eagle 08-12-2014 08:03 PM

Over £20 and it attracts fees. Post office hold the item, and hold you to ransom (and charge their own fee on top)!

Looking at all the ones you have quoted, the sellers are seriously taking the mickey (bar the last one). That's why they are all unsold nearly a year later. All those cards were going for about £30 - £40 tops early in 2014. Some printing plates were priced at circa $100 but open to 'best offer' where they would take just over half that. I got almost all the blank back 1/1's (with certificates) direct from Topps own ebay (US) auctions for their start price of $10 because nobody else bid for them. There were very few cards that you couldn't win if you used Auctionsniper stealthily, and loads of /99's and /11's were auctioned with starting price of $0.99 (finishing at circa £10 - £15). If you are after all the rarities for the 2014 set (out end of next week), then set up a spreadsheet, and watch ebay.com like a hawk! Use auctionsniper and don't double up (I've got some duplicates if you are interested?)

By getting the rarities for the 2014, won't the postage cost a small fortune ?, would love to watch ebay.com like a hawk, but when working 6 days a week at the moment , and for the next month or two, then four nights a week, drive the wife & son to work,

Regarding duplicates, if you manage to list them down and send me a PM with what price's for after, i'll see what we can do:p

I so wish...I know that you state you have this one Dorking.Eagle, but, i so wish i didn't have my head in the sand over the past few years, missed out on so many great cards, I take it, this card isn't likely to show it's face on the like's of ebay, dread to think what sort of value it'll have

I have that one, yes. Got it on ebay.com in the first few weeks after Premier Gold 2013 came out. Last one I saw for sale on ebay.com was in early August - went for sale for about $100 from memory.

The quad auto book card was the one I never got close to. A guy in China offered me one for something like £300 which I obviously had to pass on. As I say though, the 'heat' has largely gone out of the 2013 cards, and this Quad Auto book card (not the Palace one) went for just $50US. see http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Topps-P...p2047675.l2557

I'd say it's Joel Ward rather than Dann.

Looks like I'll be spending a few more notes on the card collection, thanks for the updates DE.

Yeah, does look more like Ward than Dann TBH
Not going into my collection just for a sliver of a player though!

There's a Canadian seller on ebay called mimiimports (used them a lot last year) and they seem to have got a good stock really early (it'll be a week before UK sellers get them), and they seem to have set the prices pretty low (which is great!)

You would have thought the auto's would be a lot more based on the cost per box. I was expecting Buy it Now's on all auto's to be at least $20 for the first few weeks but one seller (mimimports) got on early and basically set the price for them, the auto's won't be rare either so they won't go up in price till the initial breaks are done and the listings start become scarce or until all the sellers keep at a particular price and another seller doesn't undercut them.

If any UK dealers have committed to cases (for breaking up and selling individually), then firstly they will miss out on the early 'heat' (the initial scramble for cards over this first week, while they are waiting for their stock) but also they are going to have to be lucky in getting some great cards (1/1's, printing plates etc) to balance out the base cards...

If the autos are that price (I think rather cheap) they will be giving away base cards. For UK dealers, each CARD cost 2.80 a card thats from click distributon.
So if you see base cards at 99p etc grab them LOL.

UK dealers will do much better with Premier Club (out in January) as they haven't got the customs and import charges to build into their overheads.

JOHN1509 15-12-2014 08:35 PM

so what sort of prices do you expect the auto cards to be at for the first few days/weeks ?

Dorking .Eagle 15-12-2014 09:38 PM

I got the basic Jedi auto card from a seller in Hong Kong for US$9.99 + US$4.99 postage
which was £9.49 total.

My basic Jedi relic was £4.95 + £1.75 postage from a seller in Canada (£6.70)

The basic, unnumbered ones are pretty much unlimited and will be easily available for many months (years?) to come on ebay. As you said, you got a Bolasie relic for little over £3 from last years set.

Still good prices though I think although they will come down a little. Maybe end of January when nobody has any money!!! The sellers/dealers will make the bulk of their profit from the rarer parallel cards, printing plates and 'big players' (from big clubs)

You can spend a fortune on them if you chase every parallel, plate, and bid for loads of variations, trying to get everything. Personally been there, done that last year. One of each card will do me this time, and no massive rush. Auctions starting at a few $ are a good place to try your luck. You can get the whole set of 7 basic base cards for $15 if you look carefully, or a relic currently is on for $2.99 with n o bids, and the $/£ exchange rate is pretty good on ebay.

When UK sellers get their stocks, it will be interesting to see if even with the postage savings they can be competitive with the overseas sellers.

Neil the Eagle 15-12-2014 09:58 PM

I've taken my eye of the card collecting ball since we've been in the Prem.. the amount of 'manufactured' Limited editions has taken the joy right out of it for me.

Dorking .Eagle 15-12-2014 10:25 PM

I do know what you mean Neil. What I would say though is that as a club that spends the majority of its time in the 2nd tier, with maybe one set a season to collect, maybe supplemented with a misprinted fixture card, it's lovely to at least have the choice to collect (or not!) several sets per season. And that's before you count foreign language variations of Match Attax for example!

There's still the 'Merlin' (Topps) sticker book to come (out any day now), the new Premier Club set of cards (a more basic UK version of Premier Gold) in January, and Match Attax extra in February. With the internet and ebay, there is no need to buy a single card you don't need either.

The Premier Gold collection is basically a US concept, where numerous versions of cards exist. Over there, they take 'grading' their cards very seriously and so on. I don't think we're that bad over here, but I do like the quality, variety and choice that you get with their style of collections.

No shortage of Palace 'Taddy' cig cards on ebay at the moment if you have any gaps in your collection :)

New bits of news-

If you just want to order the Palace stickers from the 2014/15 'Merlin' Premier League sticker book, these can now be ordered individually online at www.toppsdirect.com (see post 656 for numbers)

The Topps 'Premier Club' card collection (a more basic UK version of Premier Gold) will be out on 29 January.

Match Attax Extra card collection - no news yet, but expect them mid to late Feb.

Great to see that Palace corrected the card errors in the 'programme' card collection!

My only personal collecting criteria re international cards/stickers is that the player was at Palace at the time the card was issued.

Otherwise I'd have hundreds of Gareth Southgate England cards and stickers (for example) yet he never actually played for England as a Palace player (his 1st cap was after he left the club)

...however I had to make a first ever exception for Lee Chung-Yong. There is a large number of cards for this player as he has a long international pedigree, and this card was just irresistible to be added to my collection

31. Scott Dann (Crystal Palace) Defender
32. Mile Jedinak (Crystal Palace) Midfielder
33. Yannick Bolasie (Crystal Palace) Midfielder
34. Jason Puncheon (Crystal Palace) Midfielder

Again with four printing plates, plus an Emerald Green foil parallel version

Club Badge card:-

185. Club Badge (Crystal Palace) (Gold rainbow foil)

Also a parallel version in Emerald green foil

Autograph Cards:-

13. Frazier Campbell (Crystal Palace) #/125
21. Yannick Bolasie (Crystal Palace)
40. Jason Puncheon (Crystal Palace) #/120

JOHN1509 25-02-2015 05:34 PM

you beat me to it, Have the normal base set (7 cards), also the badge & Zaha, some of the prices differ quite a bit amongst the sellers , the auto cards that i've seen so far are very expensive ,

Dorking .Eagle 26-02-2015 09:23 AM

A packet retails at £3 (5 cards) There are 50 packets in a box, so a box costs £150 (although dealers pay a little over £100 from click)
Insert rate is only 1 auto card per box. Rather a mean insert ratio, but this also suggests there will be floods of base cards very soon.

So the autos are initially going to be fairly high until demand drops off. Luckily the 3 Palace autos are not that rare (100+ of each exist). The Gareth Bale auto is only /11, so will be rather sought after in comparison (£100+).
I have bought one auto – did so by ordering it along with 9 low value/base cards and so got a 25% discount off everything in the order.

Just like the Bolasie Pro11 card,I think the price of the Palace autos will drop soon enough.

JOHN1509 26-02-2015 03:54 PM

Just on interest, these Green parallel cards, are they in limited numbers like the premier gold (#/60 ) ?

Dorking .Eagle 26-02-2015 04:06 PM

Not individually numbered and limited, no.

Just issued in smaller numbers, so rarer, in that they are less frequently in packets…….and therefore more expensive if buying singly from a dealer.

Rainbow foil Zaha Superstar (1 in 2.8 packs)
Emerald Green foil Zaha Superstar (1 in 10 packs)

Rainbow foil crest (1 in 2.8 packs)
Emerald Green foil crest (1 in 10 packs)

Definitely worth sitting tight and making the sellers sweat a little.:D

Regarding the card above, done some research on it, (most you already know)

The magazine called Kickerz issued in Norway/sweden,
It's monthly, you buy it as a package each month, with each package you get:

Kickerz magazine
mega stars book
12 football cards
soccer star figure X1
comic book
footballer poster

All for a price of 179 sek + 49 sek postage Exchange rate = £17.71....

No wonder these cards are difficult to get hold off

Also of interest to anyone who collects international cards, Cabaye features in the 'Road to Euro 2016' Adrenalyn cards, and the sticker book, both by Panini.

Managed to get the Campbell Premier Club auto card on an ebay BIN for a very decent price. :) Just Bolasie to go.

Congrats on the Campbell card, also totally forgot about these,

Regarding the Mariappa issues.

Thanks John. My son isn't a subscriber so think I can wait until ebay sellers knock out all the Palace cards as a job lot.

Hopefully there will be a Bolasie Hat Trick Hero card, but knowing the usual 'big club' bias, I'm not holding my breath!

just seen it on ebay, brought it, but will wait a while till the cards come down in price on ebay, no real hurry to complete this set yet, I've been VERY busy in the past few weeks collecting all match attax cards from the start 07/08, some off the limited ed are very costly

also cult hero's , which can only be found in multi packs at tesco's

http://cartophilic-info-exch.blogspo...lt-heroes.html

Great spot John. Missed that. No doubt despite the "only at Tesco's" strapline, ebay will be awash with them in due course.

Personally a bit gutted that it doesn't look like there'll be any 'Hat Trick Hero' cards in this set (ie Bolasie at Sunderland)....maybe they'll be in the Extra set next year.

They also went for Speroni, whereas Alex McCarthy (sp) looks a more reliable bet in goal at least for the forseeable.

Any free sheets with The Sun?

JOHN1509 24-09-2015 06:51 PM

cheers mate, managed to get the LE Rooney bronze + 5 of the tesco's cult cards from ebay, cost me £6 thou, perhaps i should of waited as prices will drop, regarding the sun,i'm sure i saw an ad about free cards this weekend
