Therefore should we have a new referendum and if so how would you vote ?
I would certainly vote to rejoin the customs union, it would solve many of our current problems including Northern Ireland. After the initial howls of outrage from the hard Brexiters I doubt if any of them would notice we were back in it.

As others have said the deal we would get would be worse than what we enjoyed before so I really don't think it is realistic to envisage a new referendum anytime soon.

Anyway why would we want to re-join when everything is going so well on the outside....

Not at all just re focusing. You cannot change the direction of an oil tanker or HGV easily and changing habits and perceptions of the work force over night or even in one or two Summers/growing seasons does not happen either.

Review in 2022/23 that will provide a better picture to judge on.

Let wait another 2 years.

Convenient. That way you can keep your head well buried.

It was Percy's brexit saviour, Johnson, who said that brexit would be a Titanic success.

If he were on that ship he would be saying that any talk of sinking is just "project fear" and that they should wait to see the effects of hitting the iceberg before getting to the lifeboats.

Yes you can. It takes training, with some foresight. You seem to want handbreak turns, like your government. There was no need to change perceptions of workers. You and your kind have stabbed them in the back with your rubbish.

I wonder if the tory voters / brexiteers on here can tell us why Johnson is promising to remove GB to NI trade barriers he previously said did not exist. And why they voted for this.

Titanic success, that should be the Johnson Consevative Motto. Hubristic failings a speciality.

Even by incompetent standards they've really achieved a White Star in just over 12 months, they've failed covid, driven through a terrible exit from the EU and managed to reignite tensions in Northern Ireland, whilst all but ensuring greater devolution.

Way to go.

They then claim it a success. As if somehow cleaning up the massive turf you laid in your own living room is worthy of praise. And still they'll clap.

They break our legs, and we say thank you for the crutches has never seemed so apt.

Yes, and by then most of us might have forgotten how good it was before we left.
