I think there is a fair amount of sympathy for the roughly 32% in Rotherham who will lose their jobs because of having to work with a majority of people who are either stupid or hold racist views.

Did leavers label everyone who voted to remain collectively as remoaners, elites, traitors etc?

Just in the last couple of posts we've all been labelled as 'smug' when it was the same remain voters who implored the farmers, the fishermen, the DUP, the less well off Spanish expats etc that they would get totally shafted, yet they somehow continue to blame others

We said you couldn't have your cake and eat it, that you would lose the right to live, love and retire in a sunny climate, and we are still angry about it, not only for us but for our kids too, although 68% of grandparents in these areas didn't give a shit about their own families jobs and livelihoods.

But we probably feel the most anger towards the 68% who just didn't and still don't listen even though their way of life is crumbling around them, that they got past "that refugee poster", the murder of Jo Cox, the £350m lie on the big red bus etc etc but what probably gets to us the most is that they still can't name a single positive outcome from brexit and continue to believe in the lies and badness that caused them to vote leave in the first place

You know when the British Empire expanded across the globe? When we built railways and roads in India etc? We didnít do it for the benefit of the Indian population.

Building infrastructure in those you trade with benefits trade. The idea that we could not afford to fill holes in our roads due to a tiny investment elsewhere is just pathetic.

Fishing? In Rotherham? Outside of getting shopping trolleys out of the Don I donít suppose thereís much commercial fishing in Rotherham.

Industry - Rotherham used to be a big thing in steel, but Parkgate closed in 1982 and Templeborough in the early nineties, so I really donít see how thatís the EUís fault.

Potholes? Last year, when we were still in the single market transition period Rotherham council committed £24m to sort out its potholes. So the money was there while we remained in the single market.

In fairness to in-exile, at least he has the courage to post on this thread, (albeit always incorrectly), whilst he has been otherwise deserted by most of his flag-waving Brexit chums.

We are, for example, still waiting for Richard to give his analysis of how Brexit is benefitting the British economy.

Who is paying for European Road and Rail now?

If you ask the fishermen they will be happy to pay if it means they get to sell their fish now

That would be the same Richard who when he finally showed his card, admitted that EU membership had benefitted him and his family but Brexit was OK because we would rub along with European countries afterwards.

Do search for the post it is so woolly it could have been knitted by a blind grandmother in a Yorkshire mill's store room

In truth, none of them actually improved society by removing themselves from the gene pool so they don't really qualify for the Darwin Awards. Surely we could just instigate a Brexit Awards for those who, through their own idiocy managed to deprive themselves of something they previously benefited from.

Richard is a very bright man, but I've never understood his position on this.

The first 2 months data for 2021 has been published for the EU compared to 2020. It says exports to the UK are down 20% while imports from the UK are down 47%. If it's Covid then why weren't other countries similarly affected? Because it's due to brexit, that's why.

And then after the tories have just decimated our main export market, Liz Truss celebrates a new free trade deal with Australia that is worth 0.02% to UK GDP but allows 3 times as many imports from AUS than we export.

You must be well pleased by how successfully they ďgot it doneĒ and how they are continuing in the same successful negotiating vein.

Perhaps they are out there seeking or filling the opportunities created by Brexit, or alternatively waiting for a couple of years to see if you are still whittling about how bad things are?

Perhaps you could enlighten us as to these opportunities created by Brexit as they seem fairly obscure at the moment. And remind me when Vote Leave stated we would have to wait a couple of years for any benefits to emerge.
