Let’s not kid ourselves that this isn’t going to happen and affect the economy for the worse - all projections have recognised this for several years, the decision was taken that this was a sacrifice worth making.
Right. Over time it is going to drag down growth. It isn’t going to fundamentally destroy anyone’s economy or anything like that, both sides will be worse off in perpetuity. The impact on the U.K. will obviously be greater.

All serious economists of any economic flavour support free trade. We’ve created trade with our major trading partner that is less free than it was. That loss of growth for everyone is the price of “taking back control”.

Always assuming we do not grow trade with non EU countries across the globe. Time will tell if that can be achieved but optimistic people will say it can be done & be true "free trade" that does not have all the stifling consequences the EU demand from member countries.

The other question of course is can growth be maintained by any country without further damage to the environment? It could be argued that Coronovirus will be the watershed when we consider other ways to look at trade, manufacturing all which contribute to Co2 emissions and reducing natural resources?

Which economies/markets are you anticipating we could do trade deals with that would (or even could) make up for the impact of Brexit?

If we were conveniently located nowhere near Europe but say in SE Asia or just off the cost of the US, then perhaps you might be able to argue NAFTA / US or something with China, but 1) we’re not, and geography is remarkably important here, and 2) trade deals with the US and China involve giving up stuff we’re rather fond of having such as affordable healthcare, food standards, and no dumping.

The sunny uplands argument is either a) intellectually dishonest, or b) idiocy. People would have more respect for Brexiters if they simply said I donmt mind being poorer if it means we “take back control”.

Beyond the press. In Jan exports down 40%, in Feb exports up 47%.

If you start with 100 and lose 40 you only have 60. 60 increased by 47% is 88.2.

Press see the 47%. Everything is awesome etc. But you’re down 11% on what you started with

Which is pretty popular with people who might say, make their entire capital wealth from investment 'opportunities'. Good news for people like Tim Martin who's regard for employees is well known.

Well any significant music market makes musicians jump through a lot more hoops than the EU did, you have to pay for touring visas and they're just harder and more expensive to get to in the first place, and apart from the US, there are much greater distances between the cities you can play in. Are you genuinely unaware of US protectionism? Do you understand what is mean by a "single market"?

This is pretty basic stuff for anybody actually involved in any kind of international trade.

Foolish me ; I thought you were quoting it because you believed it.

Sounds like you will be waiting several decades before you believe anything.

What bollocks. You posted it because you thought it gave weight to your argument that brexit is great.

You obviously did not understand it.

im-becile has broken down on a level crossing. He could get out the car and walk to safety, or he could wait 30 seconds and then make an assessment of the impact of being hit by a train.
