Froome is in. He's been doing some huge training rides in the Alps.

But as support to Woods, not as leader.

Pascal Ackerman is out, and very unhappy about it, apparently.

Yeah, so he was promised a ride, but his form has been poor.

Yes, I didn't have a lot of sympathy.

Trying to usurp Sagan in that team is only going to happen if you have significant form.

The GC race is going to be interesting, the sprinters are all there as usual and could be very close and even yellow jersey for that first week is going to be a tight battle.

Will Van Aert be at 100% following his surgery, Allaphillipe will surely be in the battle as will Van Der Poel and you cannot discard Sagan.

Looking at velogames, all the top GC riders would usually be big credits, as would the sprinters as would the puncheurs. They cannot all be big credits and still be able to put a team out.

Interesting 10 days!

In other news Fred Wright, son of my mate and Palace fan Phil, has got the nod for Bahrain Victorious and will ride his first TDF.

Well done to him and the best of wishes in his efforts to support Haig & Colbrelli! Tell him not to take too many descending tips off of Mohoric, 'cause he's a nutter!
