If they can't control their citizens then they are at fault for the game being cancelled and should be a 0-3 result. Plus, just our lick that Leicester are awful at the moment and Maddison injured. That will all change if postponed

The Palace - Leicester game would easily fit into the midweek between our last two games (ie midway between the 18th and the 26th July)

Where it gets interesting, is if Leicester postpone the Palace game to follow the spirit of the local lockdown, then they'd have to postpone several other games too.

Plus, they are on course for a European place, so do need to finish the season pretty much on time.

Is goal line technology set up ready to use there? Plus all the camera set up for VAR?

It would have been ideal to have it spare for contingencies like this.

Everything is ready to go including media/broadcast facilities and the hotel . It’s been with the epl for the last few months exclusively for this type of event.

And for it to be moved elsewhere would require Leicester players to travel from Leicester, (again not exactly essential) so surely postponement is the only option for now.
How many of the Leicester players and senior coaching staff actually live in the city? I have no idea how big an area is covered by the lockdown. Apparently their training ground is ten miles from the city so I suspect many of them will live elsewhere and travel in on match days.

Hancock says the game will go ahead. WTF does he know about it. He means it CAN go ahead as far as he is concerned. PL may feel differently or if we decide we aren't prepared to travel i don't think anybody is going to make us play.

Why wouldn’t we travel? Drive straight to the sterilised stadium, no contact with anyone until in the changing rooms

Leicester could ask for the game to be switched to Fortress Selhurst
They would be more likely to get a win there than playing us at home

Remember, it was the PL that cancelled games in March, not the government; lockdown came later.

It doesn't matter how good the commentators, TV reception, stadium or piped sounds are if we play like last night I'd rather not watch.

I don't understand how it could be played anywhere. As Dorking pointed out, it requires at least 1 team to travel either in or out when non essential travel is not permitted. Unless the Premier League is deemed essential it can't be played.

That's assuming that the team live in Leicester. I'd imagine most of the players live outside of the exclusion zone so could all meet at a neutral point and travel to a neutral ground. Obviously there might be issues with support staff who live in the affected area and getting essential equipment out of the ground for travel but might not be insurmountable.

Horse Racing is still going ahead in Leicester this afternoon and if it's OK to do that then I expect the game on Saturday will go ahead as planned as well.

Runners have been withdrawn by several trainers from racing at Leicester after Tuesday's meeting was cleared to go ahead despite new city lockdown rules.
The nine-race evening fixture is taking place after consultation between local health authorities and the British Horseracing Authority (BHA). But local trainer Mick Appleby said: "I cannot believe racing is still going ahead. "For the safety of all my staff, I have decided to withdraw all my runners."

The only contact we would have with anyone from Leicester would be the opposition players. That's going to happen wherever the game is played
