Lampard has also resurfaced doing a Q/A at an awards show. Sounds like he's enjoyed having the time off (Chelsea still paying him until July). Rejected several offers in the last two months. Waiting for something to come up.......

There's a few decent young managers available in the summer with I hope Parker being gettable. Even with this season Parker has a win % of 37%. That's better than Roy. Howe and Lampard are in the 40s with similar clubs to us. Lampard had a 50% rate with Chelsea so with better players he's at least a Europa Leagueish quality manager.

Well he got them into the 10 point deficit?

How could they have beaten Wolves, the offside was possibly the closest 'goal' not given by VAR and they hardly had an effort all evening worthy of the term (I wasn't glued to it, looked a nil-niller all day long) As the commentators are now saying, pretty with the ball but they can't score or defend. Moved the ball ok but they didn't really trouble a Wolves side clearly happy for the point that ensured Fulham couldn't catch them.

Maybe with a season with Roy or a Lennie but Roy's not going to teach him to get a side to score is he?

If he was to start instructing our team to rotationally kick the crap out of Salah et al, whilst at the same time sticking up for Zaha a bit more, then I could probably get on board!

I cannot understand Palace fans obsession with relegated managers, Lampard and Gerrard. We have to start aiming higher. Or at least replace Roy with someone better

Lampard got the Chelsea job because he was an excellent player for them. He didn’t do anything great at Derby. Based on track record Iain Dowie would be a better choice than Lampard

Fulham have more money than us with a shiny new stand and are arguably a better proposition than us. WTF would he come here?

From their establishment until 2020, Burnley were run by local businessmen and supporters. In December 2020, Velocity Sports Partners (VSP), the sports investment arm of American management firm ALK Capital, acquired an 84% stake in Burnley for £200 million.

Surely Parker's win % is only that high because of his season with one of, and arguably, the most talented squad in the Championship?

They got through in the play-offs but it was a squad expected to challenge for automatic.

Relegation is not necessarily a failure of the manager. They might have the 20th best squad in the league, so finishing 18th would be a reasonable job.

However, in the case of Parker, I think you are right. There is no reason to believe he would be anything but a downgrade on Roy.

Your point is valid but to add to it - imho they most definitely donít have the 20th best squad.

Not sure about Parker. Wouldnít write him off but you would need to know the inside story if you were to consider appointing him. I donít think he would have fared well with our current squad. But we will be changing that for. Top half squad apparently .... cough splutter cheap as chips. Itís all rosy. Woohoo

Lampards win % with Derby is a smidge over 40%. With Chelsea it's 50%. That's over two and a half seasons. That's quite a bit better than Roy who is on about 32% with us. Roy is a consistent manager and the squad as it is is aging. However all of the managers we've been linked with have better win percentages than Roy.
